i think the only problem you might run into is roads that are not plowed. the front bumper is pretty low so you might in turn end up doing some plowing of your own. as far as traction is concerned you will not loose or gain any traction with a drop. your 4 wheel drive will still work like it should.
What's the ground clearance of the front bumper, on the side between front and back wheels and the back bumper?
Is your ground clearance lower than a 2WD after lowering?

I'd be interested, because I don't know anyone around here with a lowered F150 and I'm a caretaker for my Dad and he has a hard time getting into the truck if I have to drive him to an appointment.. I'm curious if the lowering would help, if it doesn't help I probably wouldn't do it and just leave it stock...
