Trailer Brakes Controller Installation

Has anyone installed a trailer brake controller on an 09 w/towing package ??? Obviously I dont have the factory controller but do have the 7 pin connector on the bumper...

Where is the harness that you tie in to ??? Was it a difficult installation ???

I am new to towing and have no idea what is the best one to buy and where to get it from..

There is a lot of information posted here about installing both the Ford and aftermarket brake controllers. eTrailer.com is also a great source with video tutorials. I know they have one for the 09 F150 as the link has been posted here before. There is a Search feature at the top of the page for this forum or the info might be in the link jusadog posted.

Did you look in your glovebox. There should be a instruction manual for the install. The wiring harness is plugged into the back of the cubby. If you need it I can PDF the install manual and email it to you.

More photos in my album.

Could be someone like my parents on here trying to find information and not real fond of computers or sites like this. So I try to be nice!

You also have a better outlook on humanity. I just figure people are being lazy as in real life.

Thanks for the response, This thread answered all my questions and referred me to a great video and information. I appologize for not searching the topic before posting, but feel the comments above were unnecessary.

I will be ordering one from etrailer today. This great forum worked exactly as it is supposed to, I just don't understand why I had to take the criticism about asking a question.....

Because your lazy and I'm cranky.

Seriously though, there is a wealth of information in this forum available with the Search feature. New topics do come about and I think most everyone enjoys open discussion but reading the same questions being posted over and over again gets tedious. Especially when you know the answers may have been posted only a few days previous.
