i want the power rear sliding window with defroster... i wonder how hard would it be to change those out on my 09... hm hm...

So funny, that color sucks! Park the Amber Gold next to the '97 F-150 in that horrific teal baby blue color. Then set them both ablaze and youtube it. Woooo!

I guess someone was listening to my many years of posts complaining of the rear slider window with no defroster. Everyone kept coming up with reasons why they thought Ford couldn't do it, but obviously FMC found a way. Just like Barritia, I have had no brake dust issues at all, not like I did in 2004. Strange how they changed the name of the paint to Platinum White, and then offer it on the Lariat and KR as well. Can't quite figure that one out.

Brakes - fine. Heated rear seats - could care less, no one sits back there, ever. Ambient lighting - cool, mentioned that long ago. The one kicker is the power slider w/rear defrost. Been wanting that since 1997! Wonder who will be the first to try that mod to their '09?

 

Platinum White is a different color then White Sand; it is currently used on other Ford vehicles. Platinum White is a bright metalic white, while White Sand is more pearl (beige) metalic.

 

The more i think about it the less i think i would need the rear window defrost. I really ever only use the side mirrors and cam now that i dont even look in my rearview mirror unless there's a hot chick behind me. I will just open it up then lol

Can't believe they are dropping so many options, especially the flareside. There will be one thing I will always dislike about buying new Fords- they have vehicles packaged as they want, not as you want (cant get this with this, only this with this package, etc).

Well, I would have liked the rear sliding defroster and heated rear seats on my '09 Platinum but I guess I can live without them here in Sunny CA!!

Oh, and Steve, the heated rear seats are to keep the pizza pie warm on the way home

Seriously, I wonder what they are deleting on the 2010 models? They usually start "decontenting" after the intro of a new model.....

Also, I can't believe they are discontinuing the "Brilliant Silver Metallic" (was new for '09)...I like mine very much - even nicer looking that I thought it was going to be and really looks nice in the sun....

I will be interested in the ambient interior lighting retrofit for my '09 as well. Already have installed front footwell lighting and am working on the rear....have the wiring in place - just need to figure out what light fixtures I want to use. Am also going to put a light in the console - can't see jack in there at night!!

 

Hehehe. True that, although having had SuperCab's in '97 and '98 I can say that I really like the extra space for items. On rare occasions I will have someone back there, but mostly it's for space to have stuff either out of the rain and/or secure. For example, if I go shopping and it rains (or in winter) or like today, where I picked up a TV for my store but won't be at work until tomorrow to drop it off.

I am jealous of the rear defrost though, will admit that easily enough. Although Barritia brought up a good point, I always forget about the rear camera until I throw her in reverse. That will be a help on those wintry days where the rear window takes forever to clear up, even when you brush it off (soon as you start driving it gets all icy and snowy again, weird phenom that's happened in all my 150's, like the snow in the bed or from ground gets blown all up in the rear window's face).

I didn't realize they used Plat White on other FMC vehicles. Just seemed odd with the Plat name in the title, but makes more sense knowing that now. I knew it was a new color compared to White Sand. And HotLap, they have a new silver for '10, Ingot Silver if I recall correctly.

 

What ever happened to dearborn derek and igor? They usually have all the info on all the new goodies coming out on the F150. Anybody seen any pics of the possible fx2 for 2010

Well, why couldn't they do something with the payload AND the engines? I'd be interested more than I was this spring IF they'd do something in these two departments. With the way things are, I'll be stuck driving Superduties until the cows come home just because I haul a sizeable trailer. That 900-1200 pound cargo deal just makes these Supercrews glorified grocery getters.

 

It will have a different grill than the fx4. Hope fully more like the harley truck.

 

Sparkles suck to ever match if you ever get any damage. Also a sparkley black, to me always look dusty.

I agree, I hate that these companies are going all metalic colors. Dodge has not had a true gloss black since 2005. GM offers both metalic and standard gloss black in 09. I have not seen there 2010 order guide yet.

I saw that change last week when the Ford 2010 order guides came out, thats why I went ahead and ordered an 09 KR Expy. The Expy is also loosing the true gloss black for 2010 just like the F150. So I ordered an 09 the day before the 2009 order bank closed, just to get the true gloss black that I love, while I still could.
