$11,000 OFF new 2009 F-150

Just received an offer in the mail from Northside Ford in San Antonio, TX with $11,000 off sticker price on all new 2009 F-150 XLT. The Dodge dealerships are currently offering $14,000 to $15,000 off new 2009 pickups. What is the average discount people are getting on new Ford trucks in other parts of the country?

Thats a great discount on a XLT and Wow $15k off a Dodge. They are are scrapeing the barrel now. Seems like they cant shift these things at any price. But saying that who would want to by a dodge when in a couple of months it will be worth 50% less than you paid for it if they go under!

The Canadian government just announced they will guarantee all new car warranties from GM and Chrysler. Although I'm not a fan of either company, I still so not want to see them go through chapter 11.

Wont matter if they do or not it will still make the brand prices drop like a lead brick. I remember when rover went under and people who paid $30-$40 for cars lost over 60% of there second hand value over night. You could still get them serviced and repaired. People just don't like buying a product from a bankrupt company unless it's stupidly cheap. I them going under will be good for the car industry. If there current business plan ain't working then let Ford or another up coming car company take their sales and employ the people that they were. Same goes for the banks. If they cant run their business proper then they should go under and let the other banks that ain't in trouble have a chance. But thats another story.

$8-10k off MSRP for most people on 2009 F-150s. Dodge has a higher MSRP for the features/content compared to Ford, so it needs more of a discount.

My NC dealer would not budge a penny on the price.

Its a pretty small lot though.

The MSRP on mine was $47K and some change. Got it for $35K and some change.

Uber Pissed

You know I hit planet ford here in spring texas and they have the oklahoma package on the roadside (F150XLT with 3v 4.6 and 3.31 rear). It shows $11,000 off and when I hit the dealership last saturday the sales person said that incentive was over. Maybe I should take a drive to San Antonio?
A$$holes. You would think they are dying to move a truck.

Planet Ford advertises (sells) on eBay as well. The guy that started it (Scott) used to be at Lone Star Ford in Houston as the internet director or something like that. Sometimes you get a better deal using the power of the internet.

And read the fine print on the incentives. 10K off, but 4K was in rebates, so essentially the dealer is taking 6K off MSRP. You can easily get ANY dealer to do that. And an XLT that MSRP's for 34K? Might as well go into a Lariat.

Those ads are designed to get you in the door. And then you know what happens.

Considering XLT have lower price points than Lariat, KR or Platinum, the $11k off sticker is a good deal (percentage discount speaking).

Granted my truck is an '06, but my XLT has all the options I need. Shoot, I'd love an '09 XLT 4x4 Regular cab if you could get them with the 5.4L.
