That looks great. What are those clamps for the bikes? I got a couple of bikes I will be moving around so I would like to know what options are out there.

There's a few different options for mountain the bikes in your bed. At first i just got a bit of 2x6 lumber and sprayed it with a texture spray and mounted the yakima clamps to the wood and then they was removable but then i thought i would just attach them to the front of the bed. Here's their web site. They even make clamp type ones where you can remove them when you ain't using them.

Some options below

Thanks for the info. So lets see if I understand this correctly...you remove the front wheel and mount the bike to the device. Is that the only place the bike gets secured? Does the rear wheel need anything? Do the bikes move around a lot?

Sorry for all the questions in your thread, but I appreciate the insight.

Yep the front wheel removes via quick releases then you put the forks into the clamp and do the clamps quick release up. No extra support needed. As long as you tighten the quick release on the clamp then the bike aint going anywhere. It wont tip over or move at all. They hold very firm. I done mine by bolting it to the bed, but it was not very easy. I had to fit some blind nuts/rivet nuts. Because getting behind the bed was impossible. Let me know if you need some more detailed pics.

How much did the spray in bed liner run you? I have the factory drop in on mine and I'm thinking about getting rid of it because I worried living in Michigan with all the salt we use in the winter having it rust my bed?

For the taigate and bed it cost $450 incl tax. Matches very well with the look of the platisc rails and tailgate step. Beware though that if you get the tailgate done then make sure they keep the line x thin on the lips where they meet each other when they close. They are really close even without line x

Ohh and i found out what the pastic caps were for at the front of the bed. They used to be there for when people put camper things into the back of the bed so that all the cables and stuff could be routed to the bed. Crazy thing is They are still in the truck beds even though the bed campers are very rare now.
