Yea Barritia, I've seen some of your posts and assume you have the 09 F150 brochure and most publications and subjective reviews memorized, read consumer reports faithfully and are yet just another opinion around here. I, on the other hand have owned 3 of the latest F150's and an 08 Edge. The lariat was a beautiful truck, had all the bells and whistles, though I am not a fan of plastic wood grain and the multi colored interiors, but am sure you are though.. The quality you speak of I have yet to witness first hand but I am sure you are a believer that Ford is right up there with Toyota now ( read the fine print on the models used for that one ! ) Here is my experience with Ford quality :

04 FX4 - ring and pinion replaced after 3 service trips. Vibration at 70+ mph, real annoying on interstate travel and 'engineering was working on a fix'. Me and quite a few others were members of the 'vibe tribe' on this forum back then. Diesel sounding at idle, reported as cam phaser issue. Traded in truck before this repair.

05 Lariat - PCM reflash for rough 1-2 upshift, clutch packs in LS rear replaced for rear 'hopping' when turning right from a stop, slip yoke lubed 3 separate times for clunk at take off, ended up needing a new drive shaft.

06 FX4 - No issues for first 50k miles !! Then injectors ( 3 in a 6 month time frame ) went causing me to drive to dealer in this 'limp home mode'.

08 Edge Limited AWD - 3rd PTU seal replacement.

Fortunately we have great Ford dealers and techs in the area ( but the service loaners sure suck ! ) I'm sure we all have horror stories for all brands. The other forums bash as well. But whatever the reason, I got 10,400.00 off the MSRP. That is with no haggling, nothing.. Just take window MSRP and simply subtract 10,400. Then throw 0% financing on it. Who cares why or second hand values. And putting the two trucks side by side, driving them back to back, Dodge did the better job with this 09 beast of a truck.

Enjoy your new trucks guys, I know I do. Here's to the 6.2L in the FX4 for 2011 Later..

Dodge 5,840 lbs 0-60 7.4 1/4 mile 15.5
Ford 5,880 0-60 7.9 1/4 mile 16.2

Pretty Damn close.
They sure are. you give them the same diffs and even though the ford weights more they are exactly the same 0-60. Some tests even show the f150 as faster but some show the ram as faster. They are basicly the same performance. Now i bet if you run the e85 then they would be faster all day long. Ok we aint onto tundra performance but i wouldnt be interested in that if it done 0-60 in 3.5secs.

In my March/April Truck Trend:

09 4X4 Lariat Screw w/3.73, 0-60 7.6, 1/4 mile 15.8
09 Dodge 4X4 Crew O-60 6.9, 1/4 mile 14.8

Not so close, but pretty impressive #'s for the F 150.

the only good thing about buying a dodge would be for the a cummins...everything else is horrid about them....we bought a brand new dodge bumper rusted within 6 months, headliners falling down, windows don't seal, everything is just cheap

if ur not buying a diesel you should only consider a ford or a chevy imo...and personally im not a fan of the new chevy's(or the new f150's but still better than the chevy's box look)

Wow that dodge is heavy. Seems a little over weight. They are normally about 300-400 lighter than that even on their fully loaded models. The ford is almost spot on it's qouted weight.

It's on 11lbs heavier then the one in the Car and Driver test. Look above.

Given the above tests, I would think my 4X2 Screw Lariat w/ (3.55) would run about a 7.5 0-60 and 15.7 1/4 mile. Anyone agree?

Is there any way I can find out how much my truck weighs without weighing it? Maybe a stupid question.

Yeah somethings up with them tests. I just checked the curb weight of the Laramie 4x4 crew and it comes up as expected 5,612 Pounds so it makes the ram look quicker than it infact is.

Curb Weight: 5,612 Pounds
Doors: 4
Ground Clearance: 7.7 Inches
Height: 74.8 Inches
Length: 227.5 Inches
Passenger Volume: 120.9 Cubic Feet
Seating Capacity: 6 People
Tire Aspect Ratio: 60%
Tire Wheel Diameter: 20 Inches
Tire Width: 275 Millimeters
Truck Bed Height: 20.0 Inches
Truck Bed Length: 67.4 Inches
Truck Bed Width from Walls: 66.4 Inches
Truck Bed Width from Wheels: 51.0 Inches
Wheelbase: 140.0 Inches
Width: 79.4 Inches

about the same as the first test i posted. so if you look at it like that the Ford with it's extra weight makes it close to the ram again.

Take it with a pinch of salt but it's pretty close for most cars i have checked. The funny thing is when you put the dodge figures in it comes up as 6.7 0-60 so the ram does have very poor performance for the power and weight it has. I think the 5 speed lets them down and the 6 speed gets the f150 close to the ram's true figures.

Cool

Well...I just took an '09 FX4 supercrew out for a test drive.
The ride was very similar to the ram I test drove, but I found the power lacking a bit.
The interior is nice, but again, there are a helluva lot of buttons on the ford dash...I didn't know if I was driving a truck or flying a plane..lol
The thing that did catch my attention was the locking diff...a good feature to have if standard 4x4 doesn't get you out of a jam. The rear seats also fold up and do give a lot more room for hauling stuff around.
The front of the ford does have a beefier look, but I don't like the rear taillights. They look like crap!
I don't know guys....it's gonna be a photo finish....
