Status F150 HD ???

Have not heard anything of late regarding the rumored upcoming Heavy Duty version of the new F150. 7 lug wheels etc. Here is an old link:
http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/new...sel-spied.html

If the rumors were true and its a 2010.5 I imagine it would be out in early 2010 about the same time the baby diesels were coming out???

Perhaps its fate will depend on the diesel itself as what else would power it? Eccoboost... Maybe? 6.2L Now we're talking. Some other upcoming V8? OK.

Remember those upgraded 7 lug wheels we saw in spy pic awhile back? If they come out with those in 2010, I will consider the Heavy Duty again.

Power Kid, While searching for info on the EcoBoost, I just stumbled upon your post with Igor on the GM Insider forum from about a month ago. He was telling you 380 to 415-hp for the EcoBoost in 2010 and a 5.0 in 2010/2011 with similar numbers. Have you heard from him since? I noticed someone else from a few days ago saying 340 to 380-hp but without a timeline for its availability. I wish we could get accurate information on dates and what engines will be available.

When I order my 2010 F-150 Screw FX4 with the most powerful gasoline engine available on the option sheet it will be a _3.5l EB V6 (380-415hp) (MAYBE 5.0l V8 380hp)_________________.

If the only option for 2010 is the current 5.4L V8, then pls answer this question for me:

When I order my 2011 F-150 Screw FX4 with the most powerful gasoline engine available on the option sheet it will be a _5.0l V8 or 3.5l EB (380hp and 415hp respectively)_________________.

THANKS!!!

Well on this post: http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...coboost-72549/

This was reported:
Ford's engine plans have changed a lot in the last year.

6.2L Boss engine (380hp?) will be replacing the V10, and will see limited duty in the F-150.

4.4L V8 diesel engine (330hp) has been delayed as well, but is coming for the F-150, Expedition, and Navigator.

5.0L V8 Truck (360hp) will replace the 5.4 in the F-150, Navigator, Expedition, Super Duty, and vans. Simple engine, not many bells or whistles.

5.0 V8 Mustang (400hp) will replace the 4.6 in the Mustang. Advanced engine.

3.5L EcoBoost RWD (350-425hp) will be an "alternative" engine to the 5.0, and Ford will see how the market reacts.

3.5L EcoBoost FWD (340-380hp) will effectively replace a V8 in all non-RWD Ford vehicles. Taurus, Explorer, Flex, MKT, and MKS are definitely getting it, while the Edge and MKX are prospects.

I agree. So much info, no one really knows whats going on. As per your post I really tried to get some detailed info. If the next V8 thats not a "special build ala 6.2L" is a new 5.0L, then I want to know when.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think there's no market for a new F-150 "HD". Heck, what do you call the one that's out now with those numbers?? To make any further towing or paload capability increases to a new model 150, you're not getting close, you're actually in 250 capability territory. Why not just buy that truck and don't worry about it. What's the lure to 7 lug wheels also??

- Super Duty costs $2600 more for the 5.4 and $9000 more for diesel
- new model F-150 vs old model Super Duty
- looks, image
- different features
- 6 speed vs 5 speed
- more hp in the F-150 5.4
- safety
- handling
- etc....

The Super Duty is great for those who want, need and desire it. But not everyone does. Hence, the choice.

Well, it looks like the Heavy Duty SuperCrew finally made it for 2012. I guess it will have the 7 lug wheels like we saw in the spy pics. I remember the 2011 Order Guide mention the Lariat Heavy Duty. They must have changed their mind and forgot to remove the Lariat Heavy Duty from the order guide for 2011 and now it's on for real for 2012.

PS I lost my password and had to start over. Is there a way I can get my old account back?

So no 4.4L Diesel?

And why does that truck have a white bumper piece and bed?

I'd assume it's pieced together because its a test mule; for some reason if its not covered in camo, its pieced together..

With the fixer up look that truck has, there is no need for camo
