Well, here's the latest. The dealer found me a 2008 King Ranch, Forest Green/Pueblo Gold with the tan interior. Loaded up pretty well and has all I've been looking for and more. Worked out a great deal on it too with the Employee Price Plus program going on - it'll cost me less than my 2001 Lariat did when it was new! The truck is on it's way to the dealer as we speak and will be prepped, etc., in the next few days. I'll be able to pick it up early next week.

Will post some pics once I get it. Thanks to everyone for all of the good advice!

Sorry, been busy with work and getting everything completed to get the new truck. I pick it up later today - can't wait!

List was over $43k, added extended warranty (6yr/75k b-to-b) and a couple of dealer installed items, minus rebates, employee pricing, trade-in - walked out for right around $26k.

Will take some pictures as soon as I get the chance! :santa:

I've got my new ride! Really enjoying the truck and quite happy with it in my short few hours of ownership. Thanks again to all who helped out with some advice!

Great choice on the '08. I got mine a couple months ago and the deals they are giving on the '08s simply can't be beat.

In my area they are all base models what are low on options. Def not worth the asking prices when 09's can be had for such a good deal.
I beg to differ on the price differences between '08 models and '09 models. There is absolutely no way that the price difference between a baseline Lariat and a fully loaded Platinum is only $8000. I think someone was pulling your chain or got some numbers mixed up.

By the way..... have you ever seen a late-model Lariat with cloth interior? I sure haven't.

Well that lariat is still there and your right it did have the leather interior. Must have been one of the others i sat in that had the cloth. But that price difference was 6 months ago. I got my 09 fully loaded for 41k all in 2 days ago with the rebates and the lariat they have is still there and it is now 33k with all rebates and no nav. Another dealer near me has a fully loaded king ranch and thats 36k with all rebates. Seems like it aint a lot more to get a fully loaded 09 for not a lot more money. Depends though if ya can afford the extra money i suppose.

Like you said I guess it just depends on what you want and can afford. I could have afforded the '09 (that's actually what I was after at the time) but I just couldn't pass up the deal on the '08. I was looking at around $43k for an '09 and I got my '08 for just over $29k. I just couldn't personally see the extra $14k that was required to get myself into an '09.

09...

If anyone is looking to buy a supercrew then the only choice would be the 09. The comfort and room in the back seat is so much better in the new model. I thought I had a lot of room in my 04 crew but the 09 is "ginormus". The seat back angle is just right. Go for the 09, in the long run you'll be more satisfied.
