Straight from the report....

The new 2009 F-150 features safety firsts, including standard Safety CanopyTM side curtain air bags and AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control); patented “K-bag,” a new front seat-mounted air bag that helps improve side-impact protection.

From pickuptrucks.com....To meet tougher 2010 federal rollover regulations, the F-150’s roof has been reengineered with high strength steel. High strength tubes run from the base of the A-pillar up through the roof, forming a safety cage around the truck’s occupants.
Exactly. Seems like he cant do a simple google search.

Yeah, pickuptrucks.com tells the insurance institute what's up with that, eh?

LOL

I'm just glad my family travels in a "safe" truck!

Lol carry on Last5oh your only making your self look like more of a fool everytime you post a reply. Carry on kidding your self about how safe you think you are but the figures and the facts prove you are wrong. The 09 has more safty features and is safer than the 08 and you seem to be the only one that doubts that. Troll on.

If you want to be technical, any truck with a cab has a safety cage. However on the 2009 they have added a new safety cage with high strength steel that is 2 and half times stronger. If the previous gen was safer, it would have been a Top Safety Pick.

lol at Raoul. You read my mind.

Read the Insurance Institutes test results. I didn't make that stuff up. You'll lose your legs and feet in that 09, but if you're comfortable with that, who am I to stop you? :santa:

Read it and weep:

Intrusion into the driver's space was minimal, and forces on the legs and feet were low.
They wouldn't even post the pics of the dummy in the 09. It was too grotesque.

I noticed how you conveniently left out the legs and feet section.

Oh, please post the link on that info, from the insurance institutes site, since they are the end all say all afterall.

IIHS selects its Top Safety Picks by evaluating each vehicle's crashworthiness and occupant protection in frontal-offset, side-impact and rear crash test scenarios.

2008 F-150 - not a top safety pick

2009 F-150 - top safety pick

2009 Ram - not a top safey pick. not even one top safety pick for all of chrysler.

what just like you have with the other results. Pot calling the kettle black! i have gave the overall results which are exactly as they show them. A crash don't just involve your front left foot or leg?? you don't get to choose where you crash. Overall the 09 clearly beats the 08 as you can see by their figures. There ain't even figures posted for side impact or roll so lets not even go there. But I'm sure you think you 08 is better than the 09 in that department as well even with the 4 extra airbags, 2.5x stronger roll cage, advance trac and RSC????

Yes!

I heard they're working on extra beefy dummies with stronger legs and feet before they even attempt that crash test!

Perhaps i will hurt my legs or maybe even break them in a accident but im almost certain that if you had a side impact or roll and your brains were spread across your truck that you will still think that the 08 is the safer truck!! Rather have a sore leg than no head.
