Ship date confirmed, sort off!
Well i finally spoke to Ford about the delay of the 09 trucks. She wouldnt let onto anything about del of the truck until i said i would cancel my order if they didnt give me a date as i cant be waiting for a possible 2-3 month wait. She then said that shipments should start shipping for customers in oct but they didnt have a exact date in oct. Would have liked it to be within the next 2-3 weeks but it looks like that wont happen now. Jut best not be end of oct.
2009 F150 Platinum seen in Austin, TX
I saw a 2009 F150 Platinum, supercrew, in the creamy white color, on Bee Cave Road today. Really. It looks really good in that color, without any contrasting colors. The monochrome effect is good. Lariats should be the same.

That means they build them, hold them in batches, and review/test those batches for quality issues. Once they have a consistent level of quality proven by the testing and review of completed units, THEN, Ford will authorize a "clear to ship" and the shipping then starts.
This technique has proven to be extremely successful over many launches the past couple years.
They don't just ship them the minute they pop off the assembly line and hope for the best anymore.
.
They can't tell you the date because they don't know the date. The way Ford releases new products now is they "build and batch" them.

Exactly. Launches over the past 5 years have been VERY good. I will let everyone know as soon as we get the ok to ship. Word is that we are going to start working overtime next week. That is a good sign that the ok to ship might be near. We have been building well over 300 units per day this week.
I think they are about $43545 base msrp

I did not say that. As far as I know DTP will build those and they won't be back to work for another week or so.
Thanks for the reply Screwbuilder. Thats good to hear they are going back soon. Wernt sure if you said that they was being built at your plant or DTP. Also do you have any idea why we cant have the remote start on the platinum?? Is it just because of where its being built or is it something to do with the truck it's self??? Hopeing i can get this fitted at the dealer if it cant be done at the DTP plant.
