Yeah, I've liked the grille a lot since first seeing the spy pics. I was worried they might make it too "soft", like the Expedition. The one on the Expy is just too soft or weak looking for a truck, I'm not a fan of it at all. I was happy to see it going in the direction of the Super Duty, I want a truck that looks tough but has refinement as well.

Only a couple more months before the '08's come out, then Ford can start thinking about giving peeks at the '09's, maybe in Jan? I can't wait to see all the options, especially since Ford didn't even stop innovating for 2008. Back-up camera, cargo management, etc. Now, where are those heated/cooled cup holders?

No offense, but as for the 3050 on a "properly equipped F-150", you have been watching too many ford commercials. A REGULAR cab 144" wheelbase 4X2 is not really something that will haul a family camping on a weekend. That's the rig that has the 3050 payload.

I agree Ford has the most choices, but all of the crew cab style trucks below Superduty/Heavyduty level are not much truck anymore. A 1/2 ton on 1970 to 1980 could haul something - 2,500 to 3,000 pounds plus. The trucks back then weighed alot, so what has happened that we have dropped down to 1,500 pounds?
There is an entire assortment of payloads. One to fit everyone. The supercrew has a payload of 1500-1630 lbs today. The supercab 4x4 will haul 2400 lbs and up. How do the other makers compare? I couldn't find anything on GM or Chevy's site. They must be hiding it. If I've been watching too many F-150 commercials, you've been watching too many Super Duty commercials. You don't like the 1500 payload? Then get the 3/4 ton. Again Ford gave you choices and options galore. Did they even have supercrews back in 1970?

Hopefully the '09 will have the foldable bed extender like the Super Duty. But what I really wanted to see was something similiar to the Ridgeline with lockable hidden storage, someplace to store jumper cables and ropes/tie-downs, things of that nature for when you need them.
i just came up with a great idea, it will cost more but have a camera above the third brake light looking down at your bed so you can have a better view of your payload and see if anything is loose, it would be better than trying to look at it with your rear view mirror or actually looking at it while driving when you should be looking at the road, i thought it was pretty cool because if you watch any show with a spaceship in it, they always have a camera watching their "cargo bay" i thought it would be very cool to have that feature in our trucks

go on youtube.com and search 2008 F150. You will find some brief footage of the new backup camera, cargo management system, and new Lariat Limited model.

thats why you have both a bumper cam and a bed cam, cost money i know but it is pretty cool, and if you really use a truck for what it is used for then it is a pretty good option, but a bed cover would really nullify its whole purpose
