New TSB's Are Out Now Look Inside

The TSB for the trans temp gauge concern is now live it is a re flash for the instrument cluster.

as well the TSB for the harsh trans 1-2 shift harsh 5-4 down shift it is a Transmission control module re flash.

i did both re flashes on my truck before i left work and the trans re flash is great, really gives the trans a much better shift feel.

so if you take you trucks in just bring these up as concerns and they should find the re flashes as per normal diag procedures.

one big note is, that after the trans re flash it takes a few days of regular driving to do a complete relearn for the trans.

Is there a VIN range that these impact? My truck's build week was ~ the week of the 20th of April so I am guessing it might have the latest versions of the software.

Not for this particular TSB. all 2009 F150's would qualify

TSBs are not available to the public. The are available to the dealer or if like me, you pay for an annual subscription, you can access all FLM TSBs.

PM me with your email address if you would like a copy of a specific TSB.

I need this one, especially for the downshift. Sounds like my TC is going out...glad it is only a re-flash.

Probably time for me to change service departments to a different ford dealer. I called to make an appt. - told them I have an 09 f150 with rough shifting problem, told them the TSB # and they (her) response was "oh I can't look it up that way I need to check you vin # to see if there are and TSB for your particular truck" So she does her little check and say oh there are none for your truck. So I tell her that the TSB describes exactly what my truck is doing and so she finally pulls up the TSB and then she say's there is no fix yet when right on the TSB it give the corrective action in plan fing english.

was this the bang/clang it does at first when it is cold and the shifting stumble when mainly cold? And is the 5-4 shift when it is down shifting and it seems to stumble all over itself even when warm?
