2004 F-150 Drawings
There's a thread running on that other enthusiast site (FTW) with some drawings of what the 2004 F-150s should look like. They compare favorably with the latest spy shots that have been shown.
I think the truck looks great and can hardly wait to see the real thing, now. I'm convinced enough now to hold off for one more year to replace my 97 SuperCab.
Here are the drawings and links.

NOTE: you may have to cut and paste the URL into a separate browser window to get it to work.

I don't know why the pictures won't show up correctly, but if you get the FORBIDDEN error, right-click on the URL in the Address box and select Copy, open a new browser window, right-click in its Address box and select Paste, then press Enter and you should be able to see the drawing. Damned computers!

I can honestly say I'm not impressed. It looks like a modified 70's pickup certainly not as appealing as the current models. I'd like to see what the Flareside would look like before I truly make up my mind, but then again, I didn't like the mustangs when they changed their looks...oh well, time will tell.

Try this:
Open a new browser (open another internet explorer, etc)
Copy these links and paste them into it.

Hey, that worked and I think it's fine looking. Right click on the actual address he has posted. Reduce it down by clicking the minus sign in the top right corner of your screen. Double Click on internet explorer or whatever opens your internet page. Highlight the address by clicking on it once and then hit enter. Good luck. try it and be patient, the picture is worth the trouble. Thanks for the pics!!!!!!!!

Thanks BlueFlareside! That should make it a lot easier for folks.
Terry, it's too bad that you don't like the redesign. As far as the flareside goes, the reports coming out of the dealer show in Vegas were generally very negative on that style. Most seemed to like the styleside, however. There is also the possibility that the truck looks good/bad in pictures and the opposite way in real life and true 3D! Only time and a personal inspection will really tell.
I compared the drawing to the spyshots and you can see that this truck is a pretty good match. The drawing helps you to see where they've added padding under the covers to hide the lines of the truck. About the only thing that isn't clear is why there are two grill styles on the test trucks. One is completely open and looks just like the current Expedition and the other one looks like the drawing with the crossmembers in the grill. Even the wheels are the same as those on the newest spyshot truck(s).
I can see why the dealers said that it reminded them of the Tonka concept truck. If you compare the pictures directly, it doesn't look so much like the Tonka, but if you just compare it from memory, it is very similar--does that make sense?
Anyway, it's hard to please everyone, but I'm really excited about it, particularly after seeing a newly redesigned Chevy on the way to work this morning. Talk about going from bad to worse! Ford should have no problem maintaining its leadership position with this one, especially with the new 5.4L 3-vavle engine.

This is one of MANY design CONCEPT drawings I saw when I was lucky enought to spend some time (however briefly) at their design studios a few months ago. I've also recently seen the real thing with no camouflage!
There are definitely some similar design cues...but there are also A LOT of differences.

That is the best looking truck interior I have ever seen.
Can't wait to get my totaly LOADED 04 SCREW Lariat 4x4
Finally a F150 with a little luxury. I'm sick of having a similar interior in a 14k 2WD reg cab and in a 34k SCREW lariat 4x4. Keep the work truck base for those who need it but give us the option to "step up" if we want.
They are going to kick some serious Chevy and Dodge A$$ with this one boys.
