Got this on PUTC...someone had one of those dealer invites and scanned this pic off of it. The invite said that all the Regular cabs are supposed to have "easy access rear doors," about half the size of the current S/Cabs. Also a V6 Turbo diesel is to be released shortly after intro.
The pic looks good, very similar to what I have been expecting. Lets just hope they have some options for the grille. Im not liking the grey plastic that is pictured. Please dont go Avalanche on us Ford! Im not getting the easy access rear doors part of the reg cab. So now Ford is gonna have a 4 door reg. cab? WTF? Is it gonna be too much to ask for a standard reg. cab longbox or a standard ext. cab longbox? I like the news about the V-6 diesel being out shortly after intro though!

I dunno...
I think that the grille from those spy shots is a dummy grille. They were undergoing hot weather testing so it had to be open but I dont think they would have wanted to reveal that much. Plus it doesnt quite fit with the pic I posted from the Ford dealer invite, notice that its straight like the Super Duty, whereas the other pic angles in towards the bottom.
Either way I think it is shaping up to be a good looking truck.

I was in MI last weekend and spoke with someone who works for ford. He said he has seen the production version of the new F150, and even driven it. In his words ford is going to redefine the definition of a regular cab truck. He did mention something about the way you access the cab. He was pretty tight lipped about the whole thing, you could tell he knew he would loose his job if he got caught revealing too much. He did mention that the counsel mounted shifter will only be offered in the Lariat models. One thing I had hoped for was the introductino of a larger rear window, similar to the Sport Track, he said that all the trucks he had seen stiill use the traditional smaller window, although they are power. He also said the trucks are much bigger, about the same size as the current F250. I will try and find out more as soon as possible.

I wonder if that picture is of the 2004 F150 or the just debuted (to dealers in Vegas) Freestyle? see article and artist's conceptual drawing here

I didn't say that it looked exactly alike. The "artist's renderings" of the Triton concept (which became the current F150) did not have the exact same lines, grille, bumper or headlights as the production model. What I am trying to point out is that someone said that the 2004 F150 would be at the dealer meeting in Las Vegas. What is officially confirmed is that the Freestyle was announced at this meeting, so perhaps the photo attached earlier in this message was not of the 2004 F150, but the Ford Freestyle. The photo and artist's rendering look similar enough.

I bet they will because IMHO that grey Superduty type looking grill wouldn't work on a Sport or Luxury version.
