Water leak 2007 F150 4.6 intake manifold.

There is a port on the passenger side of the intake manifold that looks like it goes nowhere. This is at the rear of the manifold on the passenger side on top and something came loose and spewed all my coolant out of it. I have looked for a hose and cannot find one that would attach to it and have found these pictures online with it just being capped. Pictures are below. There are two pictures that have nothing to do with it they were just part of a pack. The third picture it the port with a cap on it and a clip. This is just an open port on my trucks manifold, i heard a loud whine, had all kinds of steam blowing out from under my hood, I pulled over and found steam blasting out of this port and all my coolant all over the engine. The last picture shows you where it is on the manifold on the back left side as you are looking at it from the front of the truck. It looks like something should attach to it but in the picture it is just capped. Can anyone tell me what this port is and what it is called? Does it just take a plastic cap over it? That makes no sense, it has to also be used for something else. Did the cap just blow off and if so what would I call it in order to order another one?

I'm going through the same thing with my 2007. I have had that nub pop off twice now. I recently replace the intake due to the age of it and cracking. What I have done to improve this situation was to apply 2 hose worn clamps on it instead of the clamp supplied. This has held up for the time being. Remember that plug is not radiator hose grade, its not made for the high temps and pressure. It will eventually crack and cause the same issue.

I went on amazon searched for radiator plugs. I found the following reinforced Silicone coolant cap. Search for:

HPS 3/4" (19mm) Black High Temperature 3-ply Reinforced Silicone Coolant Cap Bypass Heater, 1-5/8" Length, 350F Max. Temp, 4mm Wall Thickness

I plan to use this cap with 2 worn clamps and I hope this will solve the issue. I will keep the current cap as a backup in the truck. Looking for other options too...

thanks...

Thank you for the response. Do you know what this port is? Is it a heater core bypass? It's strange, the tube sticking up from my manifold that this cap would go on is smooth on the outside unlike what you would expect for a port that takes a hose. You would expect some kind of ridge going around it to keep a clamp from just sliding off. I have not found the cap or clamp if there was one on it. I am going through some medical noise and have had three surgeries in the last two months so I have not been able to get up and crawl around in there. My son is coming over tomorrow to help, hopefully he can find something, if not I will take your advice and buy that plug on Amazon and go frfom there.

Something I'd do is use a short piece of real heater hose, put a copper plug in one end. That rubber "cap" looks weak.
