My truck (2005 F150 Lariat 4-door) has an airbag light on and is putting out a 3-3 lfc code. I checked the drivers side pretensioner and it had the same reading as the pretensioner on the passenger side. I took it to the dealer and they told me it needed a new drivers side pretensioner and a wiring harness to the tune of $600. It makes no sense to me why the pretensioner on both sides read the same and it has no code for the passenger side but only the drivers side reads bad. It doesn"t seem that the drivers side is bad like the dealer told me.

 

Has it ever been in a deployment crash?

 

No. Never been in an accident at all. I bought it recently and the truck has been very well taken care of. I ran a carfax on it and it shows no sign of any accidents I have replaced these pretensioners on different vehicles where I used to work (I am retired now). Usually when we got an lfc code we just replaced the tensioner. It just seems to me that maybe it's not really bad. The service writer at the dealer just says that is what the tech says it needs.
