WIX makes a lot of filters.. which one do you want? Standard, racing, or micron?

Also, what size engine?

What is your question?

Hard to beat a Motorcraft filter, regardless of engine.

True, but certainly nothing wrong with a Wix filter, either. They are rebadged as the NAPA Gold filters. I've run Wix filters on all my vehicles/equipment for decades and been happy with 'em. I've seen them on many NASCAR/NHRA/dirt track/etc. vehicles as well. If they trust them in professional racing, they'll do fine for my vehicles.

OP, WIX 51372 is the oil filter for a 4.6L or 5.4L if that's what you're asking about.

Now way to tell what he is asking, or if he is even asking.

Maybe he's cheerleading.

Very true. Motorcraft is very good for $4.

I am lucky. I have used low cost filters, and have not experienced engine failure. At the moment, I have some Pentius, Prime Guard, and Bosch filters which I got for a very low price. About $1.50 to $2 per filter. They work just fine. These are about the same grade as what a lube shop will install. Good enough for daily driving, and following OEM oil change specification. I know that some people will spend a lot more on an oil filter. Up to $20. Same way that some people will spend a lot of money on motor oil. And the debate on oil & filters has been going on since before I was old enough to drive. I admit that I have bought expensive boutique brands; and I can't say that spending the extra money actually benefited me. So now I'm going in the opposite direction and spending a little less.

I was looking for an oil filter for my wife's Infiniti a few days ago and I went to O'reillys because they resurface rotors and I wanted to give them the business. They sell Wix filters but their prices were the highest I've seen, in the $13 or $14 range. So, I went to Advance and bought a Pure One for much less????

Never seen Wix prices that high at O'Reilly's. Was it a specialty size maybe? I think I normally pay $6-7 for mine at most, and I always get mine from O'Reilly's. I'm sure there'd be no harm in running a Fram filter if I really wanted to go cheap, since my oil changes are done routinely and I use full-synthetic oil. However, the few extra dollars on the Wix brand is something I'm willing to spend since I'm familiar with them and have never had an oil-related issue.

Been using that Mobil 1 filter. Things heavy compared to all the others.

I think that WalMart has the best over-the-counter pricing. Amazon & Rock Auto are really good for online prices. I've gotten unbelievable prices on Amazon. For whatever reason, Amazon pricing can fall to a low point where you know that they are losing money just sending it to you. As we speak, there is synthetic blend motor oil selling for $13, for a 5 quart jug, and the manufacturer has a rebate for $5. $8 for 5 quarts of oil! It's like paying $18 for 12 filters.

Amazon was selling Castrol synthetic blend, 3 pack of 5 quart jugs, for $28. The ACDelco version of the FL400 is $24 for a case of 12.

Best deals are online. Auto parts chains, with high mark-up margins, have lost my business.
