Spark plug broken/seized in motor (HELP)

I have a 2004 ford f150 lariat at about 142,000 or so Iwanted to get my spark plugs changed took it to a shop (NOT THE DEALER) AND THE GUY GOT OUT 2/3 plugs out then quit on me spent $400 (PISSED ME OFF) took my truck to the dealer spent 760 they removed every plug except the 1 the mechanic broke my trucks running like some crap. Whats the best case scenario take the head off to get out the broken plug or buy new motor/rebuild motor!

So the shop that broke the pug off charged you money and didnt take care of the broken plug? I think you might have some legal recourse there. And I would think the stealership could have taken care of it for that kind of money. I honestly dont have an answer for you. Luckily when I did my plugs they call came out ok but I have read the horror stories and I feel for you. I am floored that $1160 later you still have a broke off plug though. Wow...

It's normally a simple extraction of a broken plug with the Lisle tool. I find it hard to believe a dealer or a competent mech is not aware of that. Both of them have robbed you. The whole process of the plug change should have been about 400.00.

Hard to believe ...... hope it's not a case of head removal being the cure?

not sure how yours broke but when i did mine all 8 of mine broke off in the head. i spent a whole day with the lisle and i got them all out, great tool. my only issue is that some plugs broke and literally crumbled the porcelian and electrode pieces fell into some cylinders.

i had to tow to dealer, and pay them like $600 to bore scope and blow/vacuum out every cylinder.......
