I'm wondering what this hose does? I'm new to this engine and I was checking hoses after I changed the oil. this one was brittle enough to start crumbling in my hand.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

The A/C line. Looks like suction line.

Would this affect the performance of the engine?

Autozone sells caps for the shrader valve. Doesn't affect the engine. It is where you connect a gauge to check the low side pressure of the AC and also where you add refrigerant when required.

I don't need a new cap. I need a new hose.

the black hose crumbled from being dry and brittle.

That is just insulation. Should it be changed, yes. Does it have to be, no. The AC line is the aluminum line the shrader is connected too

Thelariat02 thank you for sharing this with me. I really appreciate the help.

I hope everyone will forgive me but I don't really know how to post on this site or where to post to. I have another question, hopefully someone can tell me what these failed tests mean?
pics attached.

thanks,
Erick

There is no sensor 3, hence the failures. 2 banks, 2 sensors per bank.

Insulation ..... just wrap it with some good tape and a zip tie.
