Is There an Outer Rear Brake Pad Direction?

2004 F150 FX4

Replaced my rear brake pads and am wondering - is there a correct way to place the outer pads (i.e. is there a right and a left?). I didn't even notice until I had the calipers back on that the "spring clip" mounted to the pad was towards the rear of the vehicle instead of the front like they were.

It doesn't seem like it matters but want to make sure.

Thanks.

I have done the rears on my 05 a few times...I have not seen a difference between the 2 pads that are intended for the outer...I am getting about 50k miles to a brake job...I just swap out the rotors for new ones and use ceramic pads (all from O'reilleys)....
