fuel odor

My 2005 F-150 4X4 w/ 5.4 smells of fuel in the cab specifically after starting and while at idle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't by chance recently change the plugs? If so, then re-torque/torque the plugs to 25 ftlbs...that is all I can think of...

Could also be leaky fuel injectors, the 2005 5.4 had a bad batch.

Rough idle

I have a 2005 F-150 that occasionally idle rough. If I pat the gas pedal, it seems to clear up at least until the next Red light but this is an occasional occurrence. If I floor it to try to clean it out, the engine light comes on. Disconnect the battery, the engine light goes off and runs fine for a while then it starts going through the same routine.
any ideas ?
Thank You

When the engine light comes on, you have to read out the OBD2 codes, not disconnect the battery!
