Front CV boot / axle problem

So I replaced my front half axle assembly on my 04 FX4. The issue I have is that when I installed it I had to stretch that axle out so far that the inner boot is kinda of sucked it. Kind of hard to explain but the boot is not round because of it being stretched out, kind of like its sucked in a bit because of it being stretched. Seems to drive find, but I dont know what kind of future of problems this may cause... any suggestions? I guess I can take it off and try to refit, but what a pain in the ***.

I would think if the boot itself isn't ripped, you should be good. I wouldn't mess with it.

I actuallyour spend a good amount of time under the truck working with the boot. After some pulling I got it to its original shape

Has the part worked out ok for you? I have a torn outer boot on the front drivers side and was considering replacing the whole half shaft. I noticed that part doesn't have very good reviews on Advance Auto website.

As you saw ..... often the boot small end will slide into position on the shaft easy enough.
