Originally, I checked the review mirror but because it is showing the blue screen, it is typically related to a connection issue. Due to the condition of the tailgate, I originally believed it to be the backup camera. So I purchased one anyhow.

Trying to get to the bottom of the blue backup camera screen.

Sorry, ran out of batteries on the phone again so the next bit will not have any photos.
Connected the camera, and still had the blue screen issues. Checked the actual wiring harness itself (the one that connects into the camera and onto another wiring harness underneath the truck. There were 2 wires on it that were corroded. Purchased replacement harness and still had the same issue. Went to AllDataDIY and purchased a wiring diagram for the truck and started tracing wires in the trailer harness (as they connect to each other) and one wire was just broken off. Repaired the broken wire and the backup camera worked! The original camera was still great so will have to return that next time I make a trip to the dealership.

Also purchased a radar detector for the truck (Escort 9500ci). It's older but purchased it for far below what it's worth.

Took a picture today of the backup camera in action.

Both Fog lights did not work on the truck. Purchased 15A fuses. Checked the fuse and it was not blown. Removed the foglight bulbs and they do not look burned out. Decided to replace them anyway and turns out it was actually the bulbs.

Installed them right in the parking lot. No tools required!

Purchased Walker 21539 Quiet-Flow Stainless Steel Muffler as the baffles on the original muffler were blown. Made an awful noise.

Mufflers side-by-side

Paid a welder to weld it together.

I thought the welds looked off so I took it somewhere else for a second opinion. I was right. There's already a hole I found on the weld.

Should have said something but lesson learned.

Had to repair the work from the previous welder = more $$$$ spent than necessary.

Since F150s use the low-beams for the day time running lights, it will shorten the life of the HID bulbs on my aftermarket bulbs. Purchased a DRL conversion kit from webelectrics to convert them into my turn signals which are LED (much longer life-span).

Purchased exhaust manifolds both for left and right side of the truck. Kit included the manifolds, bolts and gaskets.

I'm glad I have friends in the industry.

That's it for now!

Nice work!

I've had a loose baffle(s) in my exhaust for about 5 years. It's not terrible and only groans a little at just the right rpm. Usually only once and a while at idle though. When it's making that sould while idling, if I put my foot on the muffler that completely stops it. It's hard to drive like that, though

I'll get in that eventually as my stock exhaust is approaching 8 years old. No leaks though.

I've never removed an exhaust system nor touch exhaust systems in my life. It was easy on this truck. I took it to a welder's garage and did it on the ground without a lift.

I like the rear camera mod. Was it plug and play with the new harness? Your mirror automatically worked with it? Scratch that, your truck was factory equipped to have it I see.

I can't phantom putting a stock muffler back in anything, I love to hear the V8 rumble

What about if you had a V6 like me? stock, or stock sounding equivalent is all id ever do with this truck.

If I had a V8, that would be another story! Maybe in my next F150, but who knows with all the new powerful V6's.

I just don't think a V6 truck with a loud exhaust sounds good haha. AnimatedZombie on here is the only one I've ever heard that doesn't sound bad. The rest just sound like ricers.

Yep, came with the factory backup camera.

It never worked so I started by replacing the camera. No results. Changed the wiring harness from the camera, no results, chased the wire some more and found one wire that was just broken. Repaired the faulty wiring and voila, just like new.

Well in full agreeable that a Volant doesn't sound the best and is better kept tamed and OE , I know for certainly that I wouldn't buy myself a V6 truck to begin with just because I want a V8 with a nice noise maker. Ecoboosts sound fast and fun but it won't sound like 8 cylinders so it's not for me. I'll take the 5.0L when the time comes .

Good choice! I am completely undecided which way I want to go. That new 2.8 has plenty of power and seems to almost get 30 mpg. But driving a V8 just feels better.

Anyway, don't mean to sidetrack this thread...

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the Ecoboost actually cost more than the V8?

That's the UnderCover Classic Tonneau cover.

Can be found here: http://www.undercoverinfo.com/products/classic

As well, local shops here wanted $1300 for that cover. I picked up a used one in good condition for $50 from a lady going through a divorce.

However, it did not come with any mounting hardware which cost $200 directly from undercover.
