Fuel Mileage 07 KR

Fuel Mileage 07 KR
I know the fuel mileage won't be the same with a lifted truck but my 00 F350 with a V10, 10in lift and 40's got the same if not better fuel mileage than this one. Its got the 5.4, 6in lift, 295.65.20 tires and gets about 8-10 city and at best 12-13 hwy. Combined i see 11.3-11.4 Is this normal for these trucks? I was hoping for something better from a smaller truck. I have changed fuel filter and have ran a few tanks with injector cleaner so far. Plan on the plugs after a few more tanks as I do not know when the previous owners changed them. It has 228xxx miles on it. Seems to idle fine and drive nice.

Hi SSGT, I suspect you might be seeing a fairly "normal" gas mileage, considering the mods on that truck. I had a 2005 King Ranch, with stock tires and rims and no lift, and my best mileage on Interstate highways at 75 mph was between 15.0 and 15.5. Around town, it was 14.0-14.5 depending on how many stops I had to make.
Now, I had custom tunes from PHP on that truck, which improved my gas mileage by about 2 mpg over stock. So, you might look into getting a programmer for yours.
But, your truck looks in beautiful shape for the mileage it has on it. Hope the leather has been cared for as well.

Beautifully kept truck for 228k miles.
If it has not had a list of maintenance thrown at it I would begin with that. Otherwise, custom tuning and tire size re-cal is a huge possibility on the bad fuel mileage. Although it is normal to see 12/13mpg once these are lifted up with bigger tires.

My bone stock 05 lariat was typically running high 11 to low 12 city, and about 14 hwy...
Lately, I'm at 10.7 city cuz things aren't running right...I managed to pull a 15.2 on a 200 mile jaunt about 2 weeks ago...
Fwiw...the dash mpg indication has almost been right on with city mpg's...

The look of the leather makes me want to cry! Whoever got my truck got upholstery that looked almost new. It CAN be maintained, with just a little love.
The 60 vs 65 speed tells me there is a significant error. Since that model year speedo actually reads 2-3% high, you are actually "showing" about 58.5 mph at an actual speed of 65. This just under a 10% error, and you have the same error in your odometer. So, if you are calculating 13 mpg based on mileage and gallons used, you are probably actually getting close to 14.3 mpg. At a "real speed" of 40, your speedo should be reading about 41 mph.
