could be the coil...if you buy one buy one with lifetime warranty..it's probably too rich from the misfire..but the coil will go bad before the spark plug..had the same spark plug in cylinder 3 for over 12 years..usually the coils go bad first..they are anywhere from 50 to 60 bucks..if you buy the lifetime warranty you only got to pay it once..and just buy them as they go out at this point..cause eventually you will get them all.

Trucknoob, focus on coils right now not spark plugs..coils go bad before the plugs do..

tday1973, don't you bother to check the dates on posts and the thread topic before you reply?

Not to mention - the 5.4L Triton doesn't have one of them.

Sorry. The 5.4L Triton doesn't have a PCV valve either. It uses constant negative pressure crankcase ventilation.

I know there is some kind of pvc or erg valve there cause my vacuum lines are hooked to it. I just had to replace the old ones with new ones. and it sticks in the top of the valve cover. will send you a picture tomorrow and then you can maybe tell me what it is. thanks.

You have a 98 2 valve 5.4, the posts you are replying to are a 05 with a 5.4 3 valve. Totally different emissions systems. YOU have a PCV and EGR, the 3 valve has no EGR and a fixed orifice PCV system.

Please don't hijack old threads with incorrect information. Thank you. You have made 7 useless posts in just this thread alone.........

Tday1973 thank you for posting even though it was old. It helped me. I'm sure it helped others too.
