Gas gauge issue?

Hey guys, recently purchased an 07 Screw. All has been fine until this morning. Last night when i parked the truck i had (fuel gauge showed) 1/4 tank of gas. This morning when i started it to my surprise i had a little over 3/4 of a tank. I would love if someone surprised me with free gas but i doubt it.

It did rain hardcore all night long with high winds. Also, it went from 2 degrees last night to plus 17 this morning.

Any ideas?

Thanks
B

Any other gauges acting up? This can be the first sign a battery is going.

Mine has done that intermittently...my driveway has a pretty good incline...come home with a 1/4 tank leave with 3/4 tank...usually clears itself up...not sure if there is a float that sticks?

Regards!

My truck does the same exact thing. I'm sure it's something with the float as I park on a decent incline. Throws off the miles to empty and everything (which is annoying). Seems to happen more when it's colder.

Ford's fuel gauges have a resistor on them to slow the change over time. That way the gauge isn't bouncing all over the place every time you hit a bump. Inclines will register a change in tank levels.
