By the way, I've had a Dorman FPDM installed for 3-4 years and have used other Dorman parts in my truck and other cars and have never had a problem with them. If that's what you bought I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
Multiple instance of phaser, FPDM, VCT failures attributed DIRECTLY to poorly engineered and constructed Dorman components available on the web for anyone's edification - if you actually care. Even their efans are not realistically rated compared to OEM fans.
I view you as the exception, not the rule.
For non-critical parts - like window motors, ciggybutt lighters, sunvisors, etc, knock yerself out. BUT, for anything that could potentially leave you stranded, or worse, cause cascading multiple downstream failures , just to save a fewmeasly buckeroos? No. Fekkin'. Way.
