Fuel sender unit bad...heard of cutting

the hole in the bed to get to it easier-anybody has any measurements for this surgery ,please?

Take the bed off. I wouldn't cut a hole on the bed.

x2, who would cut a hole in the bed..... Disconnect a few things, and 6 or 8 bolts in the bed floor, and a cherry picker, can pull it off.

But with the sending unit, you should only need the tank dropped. Dealership did mine without pulling the bed. $370 for the job.

My gas gage on my 2009 f150 stop working. I went to autozone and the code that came back was p0461. My engine light also came on. What does this mean and what do I have to do?

From a google search;

Fuel level sensor A circuit range/performance.
Possible causes: Fuel level circuit intermittent, signal line open circuit.

Also lists electromagnetic interference from aftermarket devices as a possible cause. Do you have HID lights?
