Ohhh okay the pipe leading into the muffler can/will have one or two cuts in it so that it can have another pipe slipped over top and shrink when pressure is applied via a clamp. I only know what you mean because mine has the notch(es).

edit: to specify, the small bit of pipe that is attached to the "in" side of muffler looks like someone cut it with tin snips (obviously done very nicely via machine though) so that it functions like a bracelet almost. It can get stretched out a little bit, and/or then be shrunk a little because it's not all connected in a complete circle anymore.

I'd have them clamp it on though. You may want it removed later, and honestly, most weld jobs done ON the truck are beyond horrendous. It's a huge plus to be able to disassemble your exhaust in pieces. They can "final" weld the tips and pipe after the muffler on while everything is off the truck after mocking it and maybe tacking, but the pipe leading into the muffler can and should be clamped on IMO so it can be removed later. If people could weld ANY better than I can with my eyes closed, I'd consider having it welded.

I would call Borla and ask for assurance, but I have a feeling SoonerTruck is correct.

yea I think you guys are right. I just didn't know what would be the best route to go. but looks like I will be ordering that muffler and a couple of 18 tips off of summit or jegs. I think I might just have the y pipe done too. I got underneath the car and looked. doesn't seem that hard.

just cut that one off, give them the supplied one and then run 3 inch pipe from there to the muffler and then 2.5 out the back of the muffler.
