Good advice, plus, I found that the custom 87 tune was so strong, I had no desire to run my 93 tune.

Really. Do you prefer 87 or 91 for tow? I figure I tow about 2 days a month tops.

The first thing you want to do is get on board with PHP and get your Evo converted to a Gryphon. Pay to get some custom tunes made that incorporate your new mods. PHP has some great tunes that you can download to your Gryphon once they are completed. It can take some time to get the custom tunes from them but they are well worth it. The new tunes will change the way your truck runs and more often than not it will be for the better.
been around the block per say with edge/php.....that's why I posted what I did without elaborating on past situations....

sct and diablo have better platforms then edge...

Granted, I did not tow much, but I ran an 87 tow. You can tow up to about 2500 lbs with a performance tune, but anything over that, you need a tow tune to put less strain of the transmission.

I understand where you are coming from. I have a Superchips Cortex, an SCT 3015, and now this Edge Evo which I upgraded to a Gryphon and got custom tunes for it. I like what an SCT can do but I really like the screen and pod on the Gryphon. I will one day get a Whipple and when I do I will have my SCT tuner on hand at the very least. I completely hated the Cortex. I need to sell it.

Just an fyi, you can use a tuner to load the tunes like the sct and just plug the evolution/gryphon is after for a display. That's what I'm doing. Works fantastic

What if I am using the evo CS as the display? Would having another tuner such as sct as the main tuner cause an issue?
