Project Bear

I have been a long time member here in the 97-03 f150 forums. I recently sold my 1999 F-150 and bought a 2004 FX4 with 185,xxx Miles. The truck was and will be continued to be well taken care of, there are a few exterior cosmetic issues i need to get taken care of but other than that the truck is solid.
Here she is on day one for me:

Other Exterior:

Line-X Frame
5% On Front Door Windows ----- Done
15% On Back Doors and Back Glass ------ Done
35% on Windshield ------ Done
Pocket Style Fender Flares
Interior:

Good list. I would skip the Spyder garbage though. I ran their black LED tails and have now had multiple LEDs go out on me due to bad soldering. They're cheap for a reason

My gosh that truck is dark! I have 5% over all factory, but nothing on my windshield, and even that's too dark for me. But with that I bet you'll never need sunglasses again!

That's a huge list too, and congrats on the purchase. I recognize the signature!

Congrats on the new ride man. Quite a bit of miles though.. Keep some side cash for a new block or trans just incase, perfect for a performance upgrade truck though! Roush charged 5.4 and a built 4w75e. Good looking truck, and damn is that windshield dark looking! I wanted to try 50% on mine but even I feel that is pushing it.

I ran the spyder lights on my black F-150 and didnt have any issues. i had some LEDs go out in the cargo lamp but i sent them an email and they sent me a new one.

I had the truck checked out after i bought it by a mech i trust and he said everything looked good. The gent that owned it before me kept a log book with the date and the receipts of everything he had done to it.

The windshield really isnt that bad ill take pictures from the inside tomorrow, and tomorrow night.

Huh, wonder how that compares to mine. I know all 3 of my rear windows are stupid dark and can barely be seen out of at night and are quite dark during the day.

I wasn't suggesting that it was bad that it was dark, just pointing it out. Looks wise, I'd love to slap some 20% on windshield

Pretty house btw

Doesn't look bad. Can you still see the interior through the windshield? That is my fear, making the interior too unseen and the inspection/weight class sticker too dark and getting pulled over for it.

All 3 of mine are dark to, I still plan on getting the front 2 for our 110* temps we get over the summer.

Sent from my SM-T217S using IB AutoGroup

You cant see inside from a distance, you can if you get like 1" from the glass.

As far as inspection goes, I have a tint tax exemption sticker so I can have tint as dark as I want and can have tint anywhere on the truck.

I havent gotten it inspected yet, cause I dont have my tag yet (its paid for just not here yet) but im going to cut a small square off of the lower corner for my inspection sticker and tint sticker

so today I scraped the faded, dirty, dry rotted white/ gray or black pinstripe off both sides.

Thank the lord for 3M Adhesive Remover, a Razor Blade and Rubbing Compound. took 3 hours.

So then i came in and started playing with photoshop.

Thoughts? I took the 2009 Raptor Body Graphics and stretched it a little and and added a little more to it. The Plan is for it to look like this on the side. The tail gate will be wrapped in black, so both sides are " Connected" Might even have my company logo Cut out in RED showing through, Thought about doing it in Matte Black so it doesnt look like splattered paint or road tar.

Even played with it in Gray, Dark Gray, & Gun Metal.

I think it looks pretty good! I still like the Raptor graphics, but don't know if I could ever put them on my own truck. I've always liked Fordman7's graphics, cause his truck is white like mine. I think it would look good to have your company's name cut out to show through red.

I've got the 5% over factory on everything but the windshield. I do have the 5% glare strip across the top of the windshield just a bit below the ANS1 mark, but I'd never have tint across the whole thing. I don't worry about backing up with 5% because of the rear-view camera, but I'd hate it if I didn't have the camera. Even merging onto unlit roads can be cumbersome trying to look out of the drivers/passenger windows at night. I want my forward-vision as unobstructed as possible.

To each their own though.
