Project Bear
I've got the 5% over factory on everything but the windshield. I do have the 5% glare strip across the top of the windshield just a bit below the ANS1 mark, but I'd never have tint across the whole thing. I don't worry about backing up with 5% because of the rear-view camera, but I'd hate it if I didn't have the camera. Even merging onto unlit roads can be cumbersome trying to look out of the drivers/passenger windows at night. I want my forward-vision as unobstructed as possible.
To each their own though.

Thoughts?
I want 37" Tires, Looking at a Rough Country 6" Lift and want to avoid a BL (other opinions) thought about running either 2" Leveling Rancho Coilovers --OR-- Bilstein 5100's set to the 2" Tab --OR-- Run Say-a-way 6" Lifted Coil Overs and Run a 2" Spacer.
But Here is another thought.
Some company advertise that their:
2.5" Spacer kits Clear 35s
4" Lift Kit Clears 35s
and their 6" Clears 35s
Shouldn't a 6" Kit Clear 37s?

A 6" won't (comfortably) clear 37s without adding 2" to it, in which case it can if the wheel offset is right. But the Rough Country lift can't have any height added to it because it isn't a real 6" lift. It's a 4" lift labeled as a 6" and the 2" is added via the spacer, so it's effectively a 4" lift with a 2" leveling kit. So adding another 2" is like having a 4" level. Another member even confirmed this by calling RCX and they told him that their 4 and 6" lifts share the same 4" drop subframe. Zone lifts are the same way. That's why they're cheaper than the other lifts. It's not worth saving $200 IMO.
You can do Bilsteins, cranked coilovers, or coilovers with a 2" level, as long as it's on a proper 6" spacer lift.
If you have the means to install it yourself, I would just do the BL anyway on top of the above lifts (or just the 6" lift and BL to have nice, friendly BJ and CV angles). It'll be F'in huge on 11" of lift lol.
I also don't see gears on the mods list. With 35s, you can skate by without regearing, but with 37s, your 185k mile trans will grenade after a while (it's already almost on borrowed time as it is) and the truck will be slow as hell.

x2, No matter how well it was cared for, stuff breaks. I would look into beefing up the trans and regear and possible engine work before lifting her but, but I would continue on with lift afterward.
I recieved my RCX 6" just yesterday.. Still waiting to for the weather to clear to start the install.
Anyhow.. I have measured the drop brackets and each measure exactly 5".
So I would better say that the RCX 6" acts more like a 5" lift with a 1" leveling kit... as far as angles go.
You might be able to extend it to 7 total inches, but I wouldn't recommend any higher than that. The only way I know of on how to do this is with a set of coil overs from Fabtech, Procomp, or the 6 inch lifted Bilsteins with a 1" leveling spacer ontop of that. Giving 7" of lift. Ofcourse with either of the coil overs you could crank them to achive the 7".
The only thing I can not confirm is how much lift the RCX knuckles provide?
Technically this wouldn't be any different than making a 6" fabtech or Procomp lift 8" by adding a 2" leveling spacer. Again, as far as angles go, this should be within reason.
Also, if anyone is interested, I got my 6" RCX for $1220 shipped to my door! Was real hard to pass up that deal. And having one in person.. I can say they are quality to the Fabtect 6" I had on my previous F150. Even Rough Country's customer service is some of the best I've seen. After recieving the lift I learned that 1 hardware bag was missing from the box. A quick call to RC and without question I had the missing hardward at my front door in less than 24 hours. I similar situation occured when I orded my Fabtech many years ago... the Cam bolts for the lower Control Arms were missing... after hours of arguing with Fabtech I was forced to purchase the missing hardware. I paid nearly 3K for that lift then as it was the Dirt Logic lift and recieved zero customer service. Anyhow, that rant is over!
Hope this info helps...

Rize Industries used to make a real 8" lift kit, don't know if they are still around or not. They claimed it would clear 37's and they also made a 12" to clear 40's.
Just did a quick google search and they are still around and they still make it, along with a 6" to clear 35's

I approve of kickass revision of build plans
me likey!
Diff service can be done at same time as gears, just as a heads up that you probably already know. That's what I'm planning for mine, cause swapping gears means swapping fluid.
Highly recommend the all-black Smittybilt bull bar I got for $150 shipped from Autoanything after a discount if you haven't order the DeeZee already. It's been on for over a year and still looks brand new when I clean it.
Rize lifts are awesome, but they hide away in Mexico with their 2 year waiting list. I swear they're retarded cause their lifts are in high demand, but they either can't or won't up production to fit the market.

I Love BDS Suspensions Ive put them on several different trucks and the quaity is AWESOME!! And im getting one hell of a deal on it too.
The DeeZee Bull Bar is coming at no cost to me! Which is why im not complaining about it being on back order. (I LOVE FREE TRUCK PARTS)
Same with the PIAA Lights haha.

ive got 50 on my front winshield, and 20 on the front doors and i love it. got nothing but silverstars in the heads and fogs and i see just fine at night. also got a 5 percent strip and its perfect. the back doors have nothing, and i love that it matches the front, the back windows have 35 over the factory and im about to peel it to see better at night, and so it will make the front doors look a little closer to the rear. i feel like the back ones are still darker because the back glass is smaller than the winshield.
you all ( op and darren) have 5 on your front doors, so 50 might be dark because of that, plus darrens got black interior. mines tan. just something to think about. i should take pictures of it for comparison.
nice truck man. 8 inches and 37s will look sweet.

My dad works for Comp Cams and has Friends all over the industry. So his friends have become my friends over the last few years.

Crappy dark grey cloth interior and proud of it!
Lucky bastard. I'd love hook-ups like that.
