had a miss on my 04 f150, after replacing the plug and coil and still having a problem I pulled the valve cover . There was a rocker arm/cam follower popped out and laying in the head. It looks like the roller locked up. My questions are:

Is there anything else that might have caused this? What should i inspect?

Do you guys normally replace only the pieces on that valve or do you replace the whole bank?

I borrowed the spring compressor tool from a friend, but can't find anything on here or google as far as a write up.
Does the cam have to be in a certain possition to use it? Could someone give me some instructions/pointers or provide a link?

How do I tell if the cam was hurt? I currently plan on replacing the 3 rocker arms and the associated lash adjusters then starting the truck to see what happens(if i can find some instructions).

Thanks for the help!

lash adjuster removal with cam in
Is it possible to remove the lash adjuster/lifter with the cam in place? My 04 f150 5.4 3 valve spit out a cam follower/rocker arm. I've rotated the cam several times and cant seem to get enough clearance to slip the lifter past the cam lobe. IF the lifter would compress i think i could get it past. I do have the spring tool. If the cam must come out, is there a way to inspect the lifter while in the vehicle to see if it is good? Taking the day off work tom to get parts from the dealership and need some help quick!! Thanks

Lsc8 - I merged your two posts into this single thread. Please don't start multiple threads on a common subject. It causes confusion and can lead to misleading responses.
