2006 f150 power steering?

I have a whining noise only when turning wheel to the right at all speeds. Its fine at stand still. Been going on for about a month with the noise getting a little worse. Is it power steering pump failing? It still steers fine. Will flushing fluid help? thanks for replies

Not too sure about your issue, but its always good to change out old fluid for fresh. I pumped mine out and put fresh in. Takes our Mercon V fluid ( ATF & power steering ).

flushed out old fluid several times and put in new. Same noise. Only when turning to right and the slightest turn. How do you know if its the power steering pump or water pump etc??

whats my noise?

I change /flushed power steering fluid.....still makes same noise.

slight grinding / friction noise, but only when I had the steering wheel in a very gradual right turn. very very, slight turn.. an inch or so and noise stays the same throughout a turn. At a sit still the noise is more of a whine, like power steering, but over 20mph its the grind/friction noise. No noise at all turning left...

thanks for any ideas

Mike - I merged the two threads you started on this problem. Please don't start multiple threads on a common subject. It leads to confusion and can result in misleading responses.

Do you have a stethoscope? Might help in locating the source of the noise.
