For certainly. There's a few local folks with the step bars I want, I'm always tempted to stop and ask. Just gotta have my truck with me.
Guess we'll have to see what happens! I'm gonna check some of the Houston junkyards around Christmas time too. I'm in no rush, so I'll hold out for some white ones until I just HAVE to have them.

Not having my truck with me is never an issue haha

Not the best pics, but I did PTM the tailgate handle. I'd love to do all of the other handles now, but I don't know how well this paint is going to hold up over the course of many years. It's a touch "brighter" than the rest of my paint, but hardly noticeable when the truck is cleaned up and you aren't looking for it. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Also got some new license plate frames. White Nation is a joke referring to the truck, not because I'm a white supremicist

Lifted5.4lariat is doing the Ford emblems for me, so I should have some black ones of those on in the next few weeks.

I can't either! Talked to Brent last night and he shot them black, just needs to sand off the rings and then I guess clear them. He said they should be done in a few days, and hopefully this weekend!

How many paint chips do you have in your bumper? I've started looking at people's painted front bumpers more and see that a lot of them are what I would consider pretty severely chipped up, but the rest of the truck looks great.

Excitement of an expected mod, a joyful, taunting feeling. I'm feeling it myself, fine style shipped me the Harley valance, getting it this Monday!

I have a total of 2 chips in my front bumper. That's being 3yr old paint also. Also more rural driving. I can see a city vehicle getting debris more than most vehicles in the fashion of stones and bits. I wax my front end every few months also. I fear the chrome of the Harley grill fading/clouding out most.

Hell yeah, that's gonna look great!

I was thinking the opposite, like gravel and less well-kept roads having more rocks to throw up on the bumper. But I see your point as well. My whole truck needs a wax desperately. That Harley grill is worth protecting and taking some measures to keep it looking right.

I just don't get it.

Yer doing all this fluff while neglecting long-overdue basic maintenance. ... shameful.

Reminds me of this dad in the 'hood whut be heppin' his kid put cards in the spokes of his bike, while the rusty chain is almost falling off and squeaking like a bastige. That'll be you in a few years

Sheep.

Long over-due maintenance being only the fuel filter? You act as if my check engine light is on and my truck is falling apart it's up to date on most everything else except the diff, which most people don't do until 100k, not every 30k. I also have had the stuff for these mods for months.

I've also rebuilt hlaf my entire bike in the last few weeks, so that ain't me New brake and shift lines, pads, crank and wheel bearings, tubes and tires.

On the diff, most people be wrong. It's 30K if you care.

Fuel filter - kinda crucial. I mean really crucial ( by the way -appreciate it, WHEN you finally git around to doin' it, - cut it open and take a pitcher please? Thankee!)

What aboot coolant? TB/MAF cleaning? trans fluid exchange / pan cleaning & filter? Brake fluid flush/exchange? Steering rack fluid flush/exchange? Installing the new much-improved VCT solenoids? E-brake maintenance & lube? Muffler bearing repack? WWasher fluid filter?

Good job on the bike, but I think you missed the analogy

I'm going out to get a filter (Motorcraft of course) and the disconnect tool right now, ya happy? I will cut it open if I find anything to cut it with.

Coolant and trans fluid, etc. will have to wait until spring break, but it will be done then. Some of that will be at 100k for me though. What the hell is a muffler bearing repack I have plenty of washer fluid as well! Talk to me on them VCT solenoids though

I was just showing ya that I do maintenance too

On second thought - don't cut it open if yer reluctant - don't want you to hurt yerself. Just pour out what's left inside - see if it's as dirty as I think it may be. But, seeing the media after all those miles would be great!

Oh - muffler bearings? Old news! https://www.f150online.com/forums/ge...fluid-low.html

That reminded me - Forgot to add the blinker fluid to yer list.

Wait What? Yer gonna spend SPRING BREAK doing maintenance on yer truck???? Son - ye have hit yer head, but good.

I kinda assumed it was toward me too, as you may have over-seen my postings of "[i[120k miles on OEM plugs/COPs[/i]. Bad, yes, but all the parts are here ready to go, just need the snow to be gone and more pleasant weather conditions.

I too am curious about new VCT solenoids. New topic to research. Trans & transfercase, and FR wheel bearing and mine will almost be caught up to date on refreshed maintenance.

Edit:. My phasers are silent in my 2007, still a recommended item for maintenance?

Hi Darren;

No sir, it was not. And yer COPs, if not triggering any Mode 6 pending (misfire) codes, are probably good for some time yet. Just don't throw them out if you do elect to preemptively shogun all of them. The plugs, however, need to be R&R'd asap, along with the boots.

If yer VCT system is silent, you have no need to upgrade solenoids, although that redesign is compelling and *may* mitigate future issues (that's just a guess).

Love the truck. Keep on truckin'

I may save the filter to cut open at home, just for you. But who's to say that thing hasn't ever been replaced? I've only owned the truck for 15k miles.

Well, I spent my Christmas break working close to 70 hours a week, then still going out at night with all my buds I haven't seen for a while, and then waking up at 6:30 to go to work! I did got skiing (snowboarding) for 5 days though, so not all work. So a little maintenance ain't gonna hurt me, I sure as hell ain't going to South Padre, or Mexico!
