Big Mod Weekend. Pic Heavy!!

So I went to crazy this weekend on the truck. Painting trim, cowling, new wiper lines, PTM door handles, bed caps, fixed roll n lock, bedlined wheel wells, new rotors, brakes, calipers, Gotts mod, new stickers, seat covers, fixed rear sliding window, 4 new kenwood speakers+ ddx470 hu, tailgate camera in the handle, fx2 grille, silverstar headlights, chromed turn signal bulbs, black ford emblems and rancho quick lift.

My inspiration was I found a pic of a 2013 fx4 and wanted my 05 to resemble it. The exhaust goes in on Wednesday (hi flows and a si/so magnaflow). Still want to PTM the grill surround and black out the inside of the headlight/taillight housings. I think I have decided not to PTM the mirror skulls, I like the way it looks all black.

I figure I better wait a week or so before taking it through the wash (let the paint cure completely.

Looking great man! I really need to go through and touch up all my trim like that. What was your process if you don't mind me asking?

Great mods, they look excellent, but overall great job, how easy was painting the bed rails, and taking off the door panels

Painting the plastics wasn't too bad. To get the trim around the wheels off, go to harbor frieght and get the 7$ auto trim tool pack, it will make your life so much easier. My process was to wash, then rough up with a scotch-brite pad, and wash again. Then I painted with 4 light coats of krylon fusion paint. Let it sit for a day and then reinstall.

The bedrails were painted on the truck, just tape off real good, and go nuts using the same process as above.

The door panels werent bad, the front doors were a lot tougher than the back. But overall, not bad.

I wonder about painting the entire portion of the mirror that comes off (as in not just the skull cap but the entire piece) and leave the portion attached to the truck black. I havent seen that done.

as in this piece completely painted to matchName: IMG00220.jpg

I think it makes the mirrors look bulky when they are fully-painted. PTM the caps gives it a nice break-up in color.

Looks great! I had my skull caps painted a few months back. Makes the truck look a lot better. Never got around to posting new photos of it yet though. Will soon!
