Dropped valve spring retaining clip

Snwhile changing my valve springs today I dropped a retaining clip on the #5 cylinder and I think it went down what looks like a oil drain? I'm going to try to fish it out with a magnet in the morn an if that doesn't work I thought about pouring a little oil down there and seeing if it makes it to the oil pan. Anyone have any other ideas?

Big ol' shopvac with a suitable sized hose adapted to it?

Best of luck!

Do u happen to know where the oil drain channel runs too? I'm guessing its a straight shot back to the oil pan...

Hi.

No sir, I do not - but I'm certain one of our engine fellers will know.

Cheers

Yes. It's probably 1"x1.5"" on the outside wall of the head. Only problem is I don't have a borescope and wouldn't even know where to start looking for one in Germany.

He'll yea!!! I found it. Poured some oil down the Chanel then lowered the oil pan enough to get my hand in (fx4) and put my finger right on it. I feel like a champion lol
