417,000 .......
417,000 .......
I was in one of my customer's shops yesterday dropping off a delivery, a shop where they pretty much specialize on Fords .... but will work on a Dodge or Chevy in slack times.
Anyway ..... there is this 5.4 3v that's been laying there a few days now ...... so I asked about it.
It's from a 2006 F-250 ..... 417,000 miles and finally it died with near to no oil pressure. I was told that the man who owned the truck worked it steady hauling and pulling but was
very particular about service, regular oil changes with MC oil and filters, no abuse, just steady work.
Truck is still working with a transplant.
Thought the old warhorse deserved a "Memorial Thread".

That's some good news. I have a good ways to go for mine to hit that mark sitting at the142k range. So they going to rebuild it so it can go anther 417k?

5.4 motors whether 3v or 2v versions are incredibly durable mills if taken proper care of. My other vehicle a 2011 Crown Vic LX has the 4.6 2v. Hopefully between the two I won't be buying a new vehicle for a very long , long, long time!
Lol nope when I retired I bought a new Harley Davidson 2012 FLHX Street Glide , a slightly used 2008 F-150 Harley Davidson Super Crew truck, & a slightly used 2011 Ford Crown Vic LX. All are Black of course!
I think that a 3v can last just as long as a 3v however too many owners over its lifetime don't know or care about what this motor needs to live a long life such as using MotorCraft FL-820-S Filter & 5W-20 Oil!
