Magnaflow help!!

I know very little about exhaust so I'm asking you experts for your opinions!! I have a 2005 FX4 Scab. I'm looking for a magnaflow setup but I really am clueless. I want a single pipe coming out of the stock location. Can any of you provide links or have a part number so I can start my research. There are so many different ones ranging from $200-$800. I would like to stay on the low end!!! Thanks

You just need to buy the magnaflow muffler you want and have an exhaust shop weld it in. Probably less than $150 or so all together. You want a 2.5" Single Inlet/ 2.5" Single Outlet (SI/SO). They generally make 3 different lengths (noise level) of mufflers, 14" (off road), 18" (mild at idle/cruise, will roar at WOT), and 22"(close to stock/quietest), so find which length you want. The Magnaflow #12246 is what I would recommend for you.

Unless you want to go with a 3" single, just have a new muffler welded in place of the stock ones.

If you're going back in the stock location with one pipe, I'd just find a little bolt-on tip from Summit Racing or similar. No point in putting on some giant 3.5x18" pipe that won't be seen for more than 4-5" at the most.

I went with a 3" Magnaflow cat-back from a local shop. I paid $350 OTD installed. Mine comes out in the stock location.

Ford did not use Magnaflow products on factory exhausts. The only contracts they have with any exhaust company, are Borla Inc, because the Ford Performance exhaust kits and Roush equipped trucks exhausts are manufactored by Borla. Your truck had a Magnaflow by the dealership, or previous owner.

Yeah, I was about to say! They definitely don't come like that from factory haha.

Did you not see weld seems around the muffler you took out?

I've become a huge fan of Stainless Works exhaust www.stainlessworks.net ! I put their dual exhaust kit on my 2011 Crown Vic I luv it! My F-150 is next! They are made entirely of T-304 stainless steel & have a lifetime guarantee & made here in the USA! They even offer stainless steel headers if you want!
