and what's your way?

I could see how both ways would work.... and I think it's more of if the plug is Ganna break it's Ganna break with either method

just trying so see who is doing what

I think running a couple of cans of Techron through may be more important than the removal method.

I believe either way will work, but I used 2 bottles of techron on two half-tanks of gas and then penetrating oil in the plug wells allowed to sit for an hour or so. Then I just used a regular socket wrench; had some squeaking but not even the hint of breakage. My plugs looked just fine with 60K on them.

A buddy and me used a cordless impact on both our trucks. All 16 plugs came out fine. We tuned the torque donw to about 60 ft lbs.

If you can turn the torque down on the air impact it would probably work fine but the bigger issue will be getting the gun to the plugs closest to the firewall. It is a tight squeeze.

Did mine a couple weeks back, 90 thousand miles on original plugs. I ran two bottles of cleaner through the gas. Truck only had half tank each time. I read a bunch of threads and watched videos on YouTube. No matter which way you do it, you might break a few, all of them, or get lucky and get all 8 out. I used hand tools and took my time. Night before I loosened all 8 a 1/4 turn, then let them soak with aerokroil until the next day. When I started on a plug I tightened it back up and began working it back and forth a 1/4 turn each way. They will scretch coming. The key is patience. I got all but one out, which I used the lisle tool to get the end out. Each to their own way, but it was a pain in the azz. I wasn't paying a local guy 500+ to do it either.

I was going to do mine but a Friend is a Service Writer @ My Dealer They charge a Flat $259.95 Break or not,All mine came out for that price I just couldn't justify mesing with it & buying tools & such,They got all 8 out without any breakage I am sure when you do these plugs every day you learn a few tricks.

I would have easily paid that but wasn't that lucky, another local shop that works on mustangs and other high performance cars said 300 but said he was to busy.

I was told by my service writer that factory plugs have a paint splotch on top of the part that the COP connector attaches to. He pointed that out to me on one of my old plugs after I had them changed out a few weeks ago.
