In-Channel Vent Visors

Co-worker just purchased a set of Weathertech in-channel vent visors for his 06' SuperCrew. He didn't like the way they looked and took them off the next day. He gave me the front pair today; all I need to do is purchase the rear pair for my SuperCab. . . . If I decide to install them.

Will these ruin the windows? I was just doing some research about them online and read horror stories about them being left on vehicles long-term: scratched windows, power window motors being burnt out, auto up/down not working, weather stripping coming loose, rattling windows, ect. Does anybody have these on their truck? I've never had vent-visors before. Installation looks pretty simple from what my co-worker said and the videos I saw on YouTube.

I've had them on my truck since 2004 with no problems. They install very easily.

FWIW -- they'll look just as bad on your truck as they did on his! Don't do it -- nothing screams out "old man truck" more than vent visors (except for maybe a topper)......

If you like them put them on. If not later, take them off. In channels are better than the stick on ones.

I think a bug shield, cap, pulling a bass boat screams out "old man truck" the most. It is usually always a Silverado 1500 2wd that they drive 90% of the time.

It seems smokers like vent visors so they can have the window cracked when they smoke.

I've had my VentVisors for over 3 years and they work excellently. I got them because I used to leave my windows cracked and it would rain in my cab. I don't think they are "old man", I think they are quite functional....

I'll agree that a bug shield screams out "old man truck", and I read on here that installing a cap, or topper, has been dubbed the "grandpa mod"......but pulling a bass boat screams out " I'm going fishing mother ****er.....getting away from it all!" Tread lightly with the bass boat cracks, LOL!

I've got the stick on Lund ones and I admit, I like them much better than the in channel vents. I just find it nice that I can leave my windows cracked during the summer months and it keeps rain and sometimes bugs out.

Just preference I guess.

All of those reported problems are not caused by vent visors. Normal wear tear and failure.

I had visors on my last 2 trucks. This is the first that does not have them and I have no desire to get a pair. I do think it is cleaner looking without them.

I have AVS in channel for 2 years.
My dad do too on his 2010.

Only the superCab are available? always though they just come as complete kit.

You can get them for single, super, and crew cabs.

And as far as I know they are all the same retail price--at least the SuperCab/Crew ones are, because they both contain 4 pieces.
