Ding ding ding! And we have a winner! Early Screws had the same short doors as the regular cabs, the Scab doors are a few inches longer.

I had them and later took them off. I liked the functionality of them, but when rolling up my windows I could feel them "struggle" the last inch or so as they tried to push up beside the visors. That combined with the notorious problems people have with our windows was enough for me to remove them. The clean look without them really grew on me short there-after and I have no desire to reinstall a set.

I believe the Scab doors are about 6" longer (maybe it's only 3", but I know they are longer and I am fairly
sure it's by 6
) than Screw or Std cab doors.

I have had the Weathertech in channel visors on my '01 Mercury Grand Marquis since back about 2002, no problems with them
or the windows operating, but I spray silicone lube in the tracks. Seems they are made in Germany back then, have a machined
edge, very well made!

I have what I think are AVS brand in channel visors on my '07 FX4 Scab, not as well made in all respects, but they keep the rain
out and fit well.

On the rear lip[ only of the front visors and on the two end lips of the visors over the rear glasses I added a dab of clear silicone
just to keep in place, works well.

My '95 T-bird has stick on visors that I'ld just as soon not have on that car but am afraid they'll damage the moulding to pull off.

I put them on mine about two weeks ago. All windows now roll up fine without triggering the auto roll down. I do have an unacceptable wind noise on the driver side front. May take it back apart and retry seating it.

I've had AVS in-channel visors on my truck for probably about 7 years now. They still look great and i haven't had any window motor issues at all..

Got another set from Lund council just waiting to be installed but theres nothing wrong with the ones i have on now.. Also had these on my last 2 trucks without issues either..

Will these ruin the windows? I was just doing some research about them online and read horror stories about them being left on vehicles long-term: scratched windows, power window motors being burnt out, auto up/down not working, weather stripping coming loose, rattling windows, ect. Does anybody have these on their truck? I've never had vent-visors before. Installation looks pretty simple from what my co-worker said and the videos I saw on YouTube.
I have probably the very same ones for my '05 King Ranch, just got them for Xmas from weathertech. They do make creaking noises when it gets warm out or as the plastic heats up in the sunlight, that can be annoying.

I don't think they add any significant load to the power units, I suppose time will tell... It's really a matter of trade offs, the ones that stick on give you more space between the window and the vent, but they look cheap as hell, generate an obnoxious amount of wind noise, and if you're like me and are not a stranger at the car wash, begin to loosen at the ends (after all, they are nothing but stickers).

I think the weather tech is a far better part, ymmv...

I gave them back to my co-worker to sell on Craigslist/Ebay. I held them up to the truck and didn't think they looked cool. Some trucks can probably pull it off, but mine looks better without them. Also hearing about wind noise and all of the other issues is a turn off to me. Less is more sometimes. I have never seen vent visors on a Ferrari, Lambo, or even a Mustang.

No one should be smoking in any of those cars . Personally I feel vent visors are just one of those natural quick 'enhancement mods' people do because everyone else has them. Sort of like chrome stick-on items.

I know they really serve a purpose in the Texas heat. You can crack the window and if, key word there, it rains you are not worried about water getting in.

I saw them on a crew cab and they were PTM in white and were the inchannel ones, I personally like the look. Bug shields on the front on the other hand, ruins everything!

just had my driver side weather teck in-channel decide it wanted to depart the window. had it on for about three years with no issues. Highway speed and it was there and then gone.
yes, going to replace it- I like the look and functionality of being able to crack the window and not worry about rain
