I might sell my 08' FX4 also if I get the job promotion I've been aiming for. It would require me to do a lot of driving. I'd hate to be wasting all of that money on fuel. It gets to the point where a person has to consider want vs. need. The only thing I will be hauling is my laptop, some files, and my suitcase. You've got a nice looking truck there. Hope you get what you want for it . . . A friend of mine just sold his 2004 (technically 2003) GMC Sierra 1500 in the local newspaper for $17,500 with 55,000 miles on the odometer. That is pretty good for a GM product. The truck didn't have leather or many extras to go with it either. This gives me hope if I sell my truck. I'll know if I'm going to do it by May.

Do you still owe on the truck? Why not just by a cheap used eco car like a Civic or Accord and keep the truck?

Just a little yet. That isn't the issue though. I only have a two car garage and my neighborhood doesn't allow cars parked in the driveway for more than a few hours. I also need something that will be rock solid dependable. If I sell the truck, I'm going to take over my wife's 2012 Accord SE and then we’ll buy her another new one. I would like to trade her my truck for her car but she doesn't want to drive it. If I get this job I'm going to be too busy to be using it anyway. I just rolled over 33,000 miles on it Saturday, so I should be able to get a fair price for it.

I hear what your saying. I want mine more than I need it that's for sure. Luckily I got pretty much my dream job right out of college which doesn't even require me to have a vehicle. I work and live at the same place and I'm provided a work truck and I don't need to pay for gas. My wifes car gets over double my gas mileage so my truck sits in the barn a lot these days with the price of gas. Granted that Cougar will probably get half the gas mileage my truck does but I won't be driving it much at all and I won't have a car payment anymore. One day when I get out of school debt I'll buy a new F-150

You bothered to take your long tubes off?! Must've been a nightmare, I would've left them on haha. I'd already have some on mine if not for the headache install. Glad you unloaded your stuff quickly though. Feel bad for your poor near-stock truck too haha

I just bought them a few weeks ago. Never had a chance to put them on. I would never take the time to do that!

Aw man love your truck too bad your going to have to let it go. I almost sold mine a couple month ago glad i didn't and i think i would regret it. Good luck with the sell if your not in a hurry maybe someone will pay extra for what you have on your truck because it looks great as is.

Sucks to see it go man.. Turned out great with your color scheme you have going on. I too, like wchamp about sold the truck a month ago. Pretty glad I didn't, but everyone's scenario is different! Good luck with getting the car!

Good look Ed. Drove my dads powerstroke and decided I was going to keep mines as well

I'll stick to dealing with 5.5' bed and avg 10s gas mileage (heavy foot)

That's funny. I grew up in a little town called Sweet Valley, 30 minutes west of Wilkes-Barre.

Thanks Will. I've been pulling parts off it and selling them for the past week or so. It's sad to do but I think I will make more money this way. I've already sold quite a bit of my extras. My mileage is still really low and the value is still surprisingly high. It should be pretty stock looking by the end of the week

Thanks Brent. I've been back and forth about selling it for the past month or two and the extra car payment wasn't so appealing since I hardly ever drive it anymore. Ya I would love to keep the truck but at the same time I don't have a chance to buy a 70' Cougar Eliminator 428CJ everyday. Besides, I was needing a new project anyway

Ouch. 10 MPG is about the average gas mileage on my Tundra (work truck). Another reason I don't need my truck - free truck & free gas Don't worry a Toyota was not my choice
