2005 fx4 Complete Maintenance List??

I have had the above truck since december and I love it. It's got 105k miles on it and I want to keep it forever.

SO...I'd like some kind of guide for scheduled maintenance. I've never been a car DIYer so I don't know where to start. Yes, I have the owners manual but there are a lot of good anecdotal tips out there as well.

On a side note, I started this thread because I think I may need new brake pads soon. I've heard squeaks the last 3 of 5 days and I'm not sure if it was because the brakes were wet (it went away after driving for one minute) or if I'm coming up on some maintenance. I also don't know how to look to tell.

Any help is appreciated.

Most repair shops will give you a free brake inspection.

At 105k, there's a lot of things due if they haven't ever been done. Spark plugs, transmission fluid exchange, differential and transfer case fluid change, fuel filter, air filter, all that good stuff.

What glc said^. Plus don't forget suspension components either. Ball joints, tie rods, shocks, etc. could all be worn out also.

Shops that do brake inspections also do suspension/front end inspections.

The Ford dealer here has an oil change package - for $39.95 they change the oil and filter, rotate the tires, and do a "99 point" inspection.

Do a search here for "Fuel Pump Driver Module" or "FPDM" .... look at threads, and look at the pics, and drop your spare and check yours.

If not eaten through, clean it and clear coat it's backside and space it away from the frame tube somehow. Here are three threads:
