2004 4.8L XLT interior updates
2004 4.6L XLT interior updates
I have a 2004 4.6L XLT and I want to do some interior updates with some newer year parts. I want to update the instrument cluster and the steering wheel with volume and radio controls. I was just wondering if it's even possible and comparability issues? Has anyone done anyhthing like this that has some experience? Info and help much appreciated.

First question is why did you put a chevy engine in your Ford?
After that, im not sure, i dont think the wiring is there for radio controls in the trucks that do not have it from the factory, but I could be wrong.
The instrument cluster should swap out, as far as I know, the wiring is the same on the XLT as on the higher models. As long as your current cluster has the tach, you should be good to go.

As far as I know, the clusters are clusters. All interchange for XLT+ models. The drivers information center on the other hand I can't honestly answer but I do recall someone adding this to an XLT and claimed it worked.
Steering wheel audio controls may or may not be pre-wired. I do not know but I would think it is not.
The center console shift conversion is about the nicest upgrade for an XLT interior imo. I can never have an XLT again after having my Lariat. Hated my XLT more after test driving a couple Lariats.

Yeah I know I goofed. As soon as I submitted the thread I noticed it. I was typing on my phone and was too lazy to go back and edit it. Thanks for the ridicule haha and the info.
