Keyless entry code

Just bought an'05 Lariat. The dealer (non Ford) did not know the keyless entry code. Reading the manual, it says the factory code is printed on the computer. Where is the computer in this truck? Trying to avoid taking it to the Ford dealer and paying to have the code read.

It's located on the back wall.

And it isn't on the computer, it is on the keyless entry module which is the back wall and accessable by removing the rear seat back and some trimming. It is difficult to figure out how to push the tabs back but once you figure it out it is pretty simple later on.

I found this video to be the best at explaining how to remove the rear seat to get the code.

That was actually pretty cheap to hook up the computer. Often they charge 1/2 hr. to 1 hr. to hook it up. That translates to about $50.- $100. for the hook-up and look-up.

Either do that or have the dealer hook up the computer. I hooked the computer up to mine. But I work at a ford dealer

There is supposed to be a plastic card inserted in the manual that has the code. However, it is rarely there. The dealers often pull it for some reason.

Hard to get you to come into the dealership and pay for the code if they leave it in there for free!

Owner's pull it too for security or they put it in their wallet and forget to put it back in there when the truck is traded and can't if the truck is repo'd.....
