They don't look it up on a computer, they use a special computer tool that is for the body control module, plug into the truck's port and read the module.

Some of then charge $100.

A smart dealer would do it for free as a marketing ploy, I would think. A fee good service.

Yeah $40 or $100 is still more than 0. That should be something the dealership should provide for it's owners. I'm just ripping off the back seats instead.
