Dealers want $40 to look it up on the computer are you kidding me?

 

They don't look it up on a computer, they use a special computer tool that is for the body control module, plug into the truck's port and read the module.

Some of then charge $100.

A smart dealer would do it for free as a marketing ploy, I would think. A fee good service.

 

Yeah $40 or $100 is still more than 0. That should be something the dealership should provide for it's owners. I'm just ripping off the back seats instead.

 

IIRC, it was some really tiny numbers on mine.
