Finally found a console storage solution!!
Alright guys, this is my first post on here, so forgive me if this has already been covered. I bought my truck a couple weeks ago (08 FX4 supercrew) and was very disappointed in the center console. I've got the console shifter and behind the shifter is a huge cavern for storage. I might as well throw my stuff into a cardboard box in the backseat. After looking for a drop-in organizer solution for hours and hours (ebay, Amazon.com, etc), I ran across a perfect solution at Home Depot for about $13.

The toolbox itself is kind of cheap, thin plastic but actually fits under the back seat of my supercrew nicely. The real gem here is the little grey bins inside the toolbox. They can be arranged to fit really well in the center console, or even in the front doors! I plan on attaching the little bins together eventually, but for now I'm very happy. They don't slide around or anything, but I'll probably run some duct tape around the tops, just to make it look better.

However good find, I agree the console is a bottomless pit. Welcome to the site.

And I'll be sure to cut the ends nice and clean...

i just got this (ok i was already headed to HD for water filters too) - i have an 07 screw and i need probably 1 more of the bins to fill it out completely, so darn close! thanks for the tip though, love it!
That is pretty unique, nice!
My console has two paper restaurant menus, registration/insurance cards, garage door opener, a couple coins, and my phone charger. All that space and its barely used
. I keep hardly anything in my truck.
My bud has his truck's console packed tight

Neat idea! I went a little different way to organize mine.
I attached a piece of 1/2" by 1/2" aluminum (painted black) angle to both sides of the inside of my console 6"inchs up from the bottom.
Then I made a 2" inch deep tray with a center divider. I also applied 1/2x1/2" angle to both sides so it sits on the aluminum angle strips in the console and is removable to access bigger items underneath.
Now all my smaller items are in the new upper removable tray and my big stuff is stored underneath.
I painted it black, it looks OEMish.
I do custom millwork and cabinetry for a living so its no biggie.
I don't have my truck with me today ,but I'll try and post a couple pics tomorrow.

LIES LIES LIES......Picture or it didn't happen.

BTW that sounds like the best solution. Can't wait for the pics.
I may need to take them with my Android and text or email them to someone here to post for me.
