Yeah. I said that too. I just bought a new 2012 two months ago.

Congrats on getting her paid off. Just in time for the 2013s!

Yea I think saving is the best thing to do. At age 19 I don't need two cars. Besides I got college to deal with, even though my parents kinda help me with that.
My point exactly, the next 10 years of your life are gonna be the biggest finacial decisons your gonna make. You got a family (possibly) to start thinking about, college to pay for, a house to buy, not to mention all the little things that your gonna need a good and deep savings account for. So why add another 30-40k off debt on when your current vehicle is debt free and fine?

All very true. Fortunately for me, when I was younger, I wasn't financially able to buy a 40-50K truck. So I had no choice but to drive what little I could afford and save up. That way, I can make bad financial decisions now!

Yeah. I'll save money for now. Then in a couple years I'll buy my fx4.
I know I will be working on many more modds now that I have a little more money. I'm going to get some body work done for sure. Wish I knew how to do the work myself, that would save a lot of money.

Congrats on paying off the truck. I paid mine off in June with some extra payments since Jan. Just put an order in on a 2013 Focus ST for my daily commuter, time to keep the miles off the truck and let her rest in the garage!

AWESOME! Congrats buddy. I have 11 more months of payments...Probably gonna pay it off quicker though.
I'm gonna take the advice of the guys on the forum....After the truck is paid, I'm gonna save my butt off.
Not to mention, our 04-08s still look damn good. After about 2 years of saving, I should be good to put a fat down payment down on a used 2013 Shelby GT500, or a Boss 302, or brand new 2014 5.0! Either way, its a good choice to save and not go back into debt again! Enjoy that good ol' title lol..

Congrats, but after selling my last newer pickup and driving an older f150 for 3 or 4 years I found it a lot harder to write a check for this used pickup all at once than it ever was to put a little bit of money down on a loan. Congrats again, making that final payment always feels good, and makes it a lot easier each month to pay the ins./fuel/maint. costs. All of a sudden you have tons of cash to do something else with.

Yes, it is, and that's the reason so many people (and our gov't) is in financial straits right now. They like everything new, and make purchases based on what they can afford out of each check, with little regard for the total cost of the purchase after taxes/interest. Hurts to let go of $10K you saved a long time for, but in reality, that's less than a 2yrs of loan payments on a typical new truck. You also avoid the risk of being upside down on it in case there was a need to sell it. Someday financial courses will be mandatory in high schools and maybe people will at least have the chance to see the effects of living life on credit . . .

Yep. I like what your saying. I looked hard at righting that 25K check, but in the end I only have fuel/maint/ins. to pay for. The interest I would have gave the bank will pay for a lot of things. Man does it feel good to buy things this way, doesn't make my bank (that I love by the way) very happy, but they know with the conversations I've had with them that I will be giving them some more business some time soon. Nothing like being able to call the banker, have a little chat over the phone, and they just tell you to swing in when you get a chance, I just transfered the funds to your account. Small town banks that have known you since you were a baby.

CONGRATS!! I just got my title in the mail 3 weeks ago, which is about 1-1/2 years early! I always paid extra each month, and now she's mine!! I'd LOVE a newer one, but not that new payment! I now take $1-200 of what I used to send and keep it for me, then the rest goes towards knocking down the credit card bill!

i don't have much credit card debt, but i do have some school debt lol. I'm trying not to let it pile up, Last semester i had to take out loans so as soon as i pay off the $2000 loan i have its back to saving money for a new car/truck.
