I guess it would depend on what part is in question to make a suggestion.

They're both of the same quality.

Or maybe more correctly, they both meet the same specifications.

I am running re-manufactured OEM calipers up front. Everything is just fine here.

OEM would be my first choice unless the difference in price was so great that it made no sense to get the OEM part over the factory reman. You are good either way, it's just my opinion and preference.

I'm running an O'Reilly's reman alternator, no problems, lifetime warranty.

OEM parts are new, but only a percentage of units are inspected off the production line. Remanufactured parts are not new, but every unit is inspected off the line. They both meet design criteria/specs. They may or may not come with the same garantee. They may or may not cost the same.
The first three sentences speak to quality.
The last two sentences are where I focus my purchase attention.

I hope that was a joke. I have seen Reman'd parts that were bad right out of the box, and I'm not talking about Rebuilt. I'm talking about Factory (manufacturer) authorized Reman'd parts.

Why do you hope it was a joke? Are you having a bad day?

I never said ANY of the parts were perfect. Or that the inspectors knew their jobs. I too have opened boxes to discover bad/wrong parts. I've seen new vehicles that were bad right off the show room floor too. What's your point?

#1. Nope, not having a bad day

#2. You made the point that ALL Reman'd parts were inspected. What was YOUR point if they box bogus parts. And I have definitely seen it. What's the point of inspecting ALL reman'd parts if Cross-eyed Bubba has no idea what he's doing.
#3. What exactly is your point in questioning mine. My point was valid, haven't yet figured out exactly what yours was.
#4. Are you having a bad day???? Need a hug? Cross-eyed Bubba isn't doing much, maybe he could give you one.
